Fell apart during washing

This bag was good while it lasted (6 months)... then I washed it in a washing machine, and two of the straps ripped apart. Kata refused a warranty claim citing "misuse." Perhaps that's just me, thinking that washing your things is part of normal maintenance. Rather disappointed with this manufacturer.

Hard to find 17" laptop camera bag combo

This was given as a gift to my daughter. After receiving it I attempted to purchase another for me, but it was no longer avaiable. Since it was A Christmas gift -- she hasn't had any time to give it a test drive.

Very good bag

Good bad with a couple of minor issues. It might hold 2 SLRs as stated, but it would be tight. It's not easy to put the camera in with a medium lens attached, other than in the unpadded upper section, unless you had only a couple of smaller lenses in the lower section. the laptop section holds a full sized widescreen 15" plus an iPad in a case. Good compartments, great zippers and pulls, good top handle. Wish it had fewer dangling straps. Good bag but I might look at the lowepro 250 or 350.

Well Constructed But Undersized

I purchased this particular pack to replace a Tamrac shoulder bag (that was no longer large enough) based on the description stating that it held "Two DSLR with Mounted Lens, 3-4 Lenses, Flash, Tripod & Laptop". This was a bit of an exageration. A small tripod and laptop yes, but one Canon 5D with a fairly compact Tamron 28-300 lens mounted, two average-sized flashes and a small wide angle zoom completely fill the camera compartment. The only way this bag would hold all of the equipment described would be if one camera body and lens was carried in the upper(unpadded)portion of the pack with a couple extra lenses piled in. Even then, a full-frame body with a larger lens like a 70-200 f2.8 would be a challenging fit. The pack also lacks a good system of pockets inside and out for peripherals such as batteries and memory cards; separate pouches are needed to keep these organized, which consumes more space. That being said, the pack is well-constructed and comfortable, and the laptop compartment has good protection. For someone looking to carry a single camera body and a few extra attachments, it's a perfectly serviceable unit. But it has nowhere near the capacity suggested by the advertised description.

About Kata DR-467i Digital Rucksack for 2 DSLR, Green

The Kata DR-467i Digital Rucksack features a unique TST RIB structural protection for two D/SLR with mounted lens, 3-4 lenses, flash etc. + personal gear, laptop and small tripod. By removing the padded bottom camera insert you can easily convert this rucksack from a camera bag to a daypack when not shooting.

The main compartment holds a D/SLR in top grip position while the modular dividers system will separate, organize and protect lenses, flashes and other accessories to suit your particular needs. The middle separating divider easily zips open for full bag access. The dedicated rear padded compartment will protect a laptop or hold paperwork. The large top compartment will hold personal gear or additional equipment and the internal pockets and mp3 player pouch will allow you to organize your personal effects as efficiently as your photographic gear.

Ample external pockets allow quick zippered access to supplies and a water bottle/ tripod support pocket pulls out from a side pocket. A loop on both shoulder straps allows you to connect external pouches to carry a cell phone or mp3 player. Included rain cover folds neatly away into an integrated pocket and can be hung out to dry on the small buckle next to the handle, or tucked away for storage in one of the pockets.

When carrying, a chest belt and balancing waist strap are available for ultimate comfort and the rucksack is also compatible with the Kata Insertrolley if wheel along transportation is needed. EPH system compatibility allows you to attach either a torso pack or waist pack for additional carrying options.
