I primarily use the covers to protect cameras while photographing paintball games. They last forever, and do a nice job of keeping your gear clean, dry and functional.

I have yet to test this in serious rain conditions but I think I can comfortably say that it would hold up to most challenges. I feel pretty comfortable shooting in wet conditions with this cover and use it for both landscape photography and outside event coverage. It provides complete camera and lens (apart from the front element obviously) coverage and securely fastens beneath the lens and camera body with velcro. It's light weight enough to carry in your pack without taking up too much room. You can use this with smaller lens than the 70-200mm although the hard front piece that wraps around the lens can make accessing the zoom and focus rings tricky. For example I have used this with the Canon 17-40mm and while you can just about get to the zoom ring the focus ring further forward is very hard to reach under the hard plastic fastening. This isn't too much of an issue if you are using auto focus but if you are shooting landscapes and wish to have precise control this may be something you wish to consider.

The E-690 PL elements cover is an excellent and practical cover for zoom cameras up to a small DSLR with small lens (camera must have protruding lens). When suddenly caught in the rain, it slips quickly over your camera and allows you to keep on shooting. Access is available to all camera and lens controls via the two side sleeves, and the transparent TPU enables easy monitoring all the time. Full-length double zipper provides bottom closure when hand held or on a tripod.
