My reason for buying this adapter was to be able to use my Hasselblad medium format lenses as tilt-shift lenses on the Nikon. I tried this mostly with a Zeiss Distagon 50mm f/4 C lens, also with an 80mm Planar f/2.8, on a Nikon D700. I also took a couple of pictures with a Nikon D3000, just to confirm that the basics work. The adapter has nice build quality and precise movements, it fits well to my cameras and lenses. Note that there are now 5 couplings between camera and lens instead of one: Nikon mount, rotation, shift, tilt, and Hasselblad mount. I found the rotator to be the one that is a tiny bit loose, the other ones fit fairly well, with little play. It's a nice solution for a price that is much lower than a couple of tilt-shift lenses, but the cost savings come with compromises! The shift is up to 15mm on each side, and the tilt/swing is up to 12 degrees in one direction. By rotating the adapter in 30 degree stops it is possible to shift/tilt in other directions. The main thing I noticed right away is substantial vignetting in the viewfinder (also affecting metering) for both shift and tilt. Fortunately, for tilting with wider lenses, the actual picture is not affected. I did experience this vignetting on the picture for shifting, though. Please note that I have never tried a real tilt-shift lens, so I don't know which of these issues happen with those as well. This adapter is likely a big compromise, compared to a real tilt-shift lens, but after accepting its limitations it is workable. Here are the main limitations I found: Vignetting in the viewfinder for tilting, some vignetting in the picture when tilting longer focal length lenses. Vignetting in viewfinder and picture when shifting. Meter the exposure in the normal position, then tilt or shift. Focusing is best done in Live View on a tripod. To stop down the lens, use the depth-of-field preview button on the lens. Can't rotate all the way around, the rotation lock button touches the prism "hump" in one position, but I could still use all of the twelve 30 degree stops. Tilt and shift are locked with respect to each other at 90 degrees. It is not possible to tilt and shift in the same direction, but for me that's not a problem.

Nowadays, as the number of people using interchangeable lens digital cameras increases, proprietary combinations of camera lenses and bodies are no longer able to satisfy the increasingly sophisticated demands of the many photography enthusiasts. The use of lens adapters have given users full rein of customizing their equipment to best fulfill their needs through different combinations of lenses and camera bodies.
However, although individual camera manufacturers havecreated their own customized adapters, combining lenses and camera bodies of different manufacture has become an ever expanding challenge. At KIPON, a world-renown camera adapter manufacturer, we have developed over 400 types of adapters. With our various adapters, we offer our users the freedom and compatibility of lenses and camera bodies that transcends different times and manufacturers. We have made possible not only the interchangeable use of products across brands but also the use of traditional film lenses.
KIPON offers a full line of camera lens adapters including macro adapters, electronic adapters, adapters with integrated glass, optical focal reduction adapters, adapters with built in aperture control, tilt/shift adapters, tilt adapters, and shift adapters.
The KIPON T&S HB-NIK adapter mounts Hasselblad V mount CF series lenses on Nikon F series camera bodies. Once mounted, only manual focus will be accessiblewhen shooting although infinity focus will still be available. Besides the original functions, the adapter also provide a 360½free rotation and a 12½tilt and 15mm shift function. This provides the adapter with the flexibility to be adjusted accordingly to meet the needs of every situation. The tilt function enables you to highlight specific subjects in a photo while the shift function minimize an size distortions that may result from objects being seen at an angle.
On the right of the adapter a screw can be loosened to adjust the angle of the tilt. After adjustment, retighten the screw to lock desired position into place. To adjust the shift, press the metal trigger and slide the moving piece of the adapter.
All KIPON adapters undergo the CNC turning center procedure during manufacturing to provide our customers with only the utmost precision and quality. We guarantee an ideal fitting between cameras and lenses to maintain the ease and accuracy of photography. All adapters are made of brass and/or aluminum alloy.
