kind of a slow card

expected more (faster) from this card considering the cost. better to stick with sandisk or lexar.

Solid performance

So far (about 2 months worth of shooting) this CF card is capturing and delivering my files flawlessly. Even though the card is not as fast as some other cards I own, the few times I've used continuous drive on my Canon EOS 20D, I've never gotten ahead of its write cycle.

I'm thinking about buying another one

I don't have to worry about changing memory cards in the middle of a weding. Pretty fast. I told my friend to buy one, and I think I'm getting another for myself.

Nice card, Better price!

We have previously used a "Pro" 1GB card, but 8x the storage, a rapid transfer rate plus the rebate made this a must purchase item. Very happy!

Works Great in my Canon Powershot S410

I think I can shoot about 4000 pictures at the highest 4MP quality. The camera takes a few seconds longer to boot before it says how much space is available. And I can't take a picture until it figures out how much space is left. I'm certain that this is the fault of the camera (probably never expected so much space available) and not the card. I bought this for a two week trip to Mexico and San Diego and since I can't bring a laptop to off-load my pictures I wanted to have a large capacity card in my ultra portable camera. I can't speak to the speed of the card.

Great card for the price

I use this card in my Canon Rebel XTI. I get about 820 Raw shots out of the card, I also bought 2 2-gig cards prior to this one. Haven't had to put them in since having this 8 gig card. [...]

It's expensive, but worth it with rebate

It's great for PDAs, if you want to carry your whole music collection with you. Now, I leave my mp3 player at home and just use my PDA. I also recommend for faster uploads, use the MWAVE ALL IN ONE USB 2.0 CARD READER AND WRITER [...]

Sloooooow!

It's only a 45x card, and though the price after rebate is good, I would at the very least recommend the 133x version for 10 dollars more instead. This card is painfully slow.

Large Capacity, Good Quality, Good Price

Worked first time when used in AXIM X51V to store pictures. AXIM recognized full capacity - 8gb. Found no problems thus far.

The Elite Pro line offers a memory grade for enthusiasts and professionals who require higher write speeds and lower power consumption from their CompactFlash cards. This allows Elite Pro users the opportunity to get additional speed and performance out of their flash memory based equipment

With image files quickly growing in size, the time it takes to store or write those files to a Flash card is becoming an important buying criterion for prosumers and professionals. Today, many Flash cards are sold with an "X" speed rating that is similar to how CD-ROM drives are sold. This rating system gives users a performance indicator of how fast the card can transfer images.

Kingston's Elite Pro/Ultimate Flash Cards "X" Speed Ratings
Kingston defines X-speed as the write speed, because users generally care more about how long it takes to write data to a Flash cardwhen using it in a digital camera or cell phone. Typically, read speeds are higher than write speeds for Flash cards, so the write speed is more meaningful when measuring performance.
45X Elite Pro/Ultimate X Speed = 6.75 Comparable MB/sec.
50X Elite Pro/Ultimate X Speed = 7.50 Comparable MB/sec.

Kingston Elite Pro/Ultimate Flash Cards for Quality and High Performance
Kingston's Flash cards deliver on the quality and high performance needed by prosumers and professionals alike. These cards also have speed headroom to support users who plan to upgrade later to newer and faster host devices.

As the world's leading independent memory products manufacturer, Kingston uses only top-quality Flash chips and manufactures Flash products in state-of-the-art factories. All cards come with a lifetime warranty, 24/7 technical support and Kingston's legendary reliability, making Kingston the ideal memory choice for Flash storage devices.
