Match your SD card to image requirements

I have used both SanDisk and Kingston products for many years. The outward difference is the cost and write speed (the speed at which the SD card stores an image). The decision of which to purchase is easily determined by the genre of photography in which you engage. If fast moving sports of any kind is your preference, then using a card that has a high write speed will keep up with the "burst rate" demands of your camera (multiple shots taken in a matter of seconds). If this is the case perhaps the SanDisk Extreme Pro would be a better choice with its 95mb per second write speed. Another factor is the size of the image you are shooting. Even a slower write speed card can keep up with a burst of lower res jpg images. Remember that the burst rate of a camera is model specific, and many cameras do not offer the burst function at all. If your preference does not demand shooting multiple high resolution images within a second or two, then using a slower write speed is not only acceptable it represents a substantial cost savings of 40% or 50%. The Kingston brand was established in 1987 when finding professional grade, price sensitve memory cards was a real challenge. They are now one of the largest manufacturers of memory cards and their memory products carry a lifetime waranty. They are extrememly reliable.
