Bought this with the lens stabilizer attachment. They work together perfectly. Much better than the Nikon collar that comes with the 200-500mm lens. I’m not exactly crazy about the silver adjustment knobs but not going to send it back either. Pricey, yes but worth the money for this upgrade.

Crazy! LOVE the Kirk Quick Release. Who wouldn't? If you use the "Kirk System", you need the quick-release foot to make it all work. Funny thing ... Fits perfect. Built perfect. But ... it came with a silver knob. Say what? Now, I own three Kirk ball heads, and all my lenses have the quick-release feet on them ... And EVERYTHING Kirk makes is black. Simple. A silver knob on a BLACK collar. Whew, pure crazy. I e-mailed Kirk ... THAT DAY, there was a package in the mail. really. A few days later, I had my BLACK knob on my BLACK collar. Perfect. That is why I like KIRK. That is why I use Kirk products. Excellent materials, excellent designs. And so smooth ... The QUALITY is unsurpassed. And they are all BLACK. Well, most of them anyway. There is that one silver knob upstairs in my Spare Parts Bin if you are looking for something different.

This Kirk lens collar is very well made and much better design than the OEM lens collar on my Nikon 200-500. I have been a Kirk products fan for many years and will continue to choose and use their L-brackets and lens collars.

This Kirk replacement for my new Nikon 200-500mm works flawlessly. Well designed with an eye for details. It offers a great improvement over the original.

The length of the arca swiss connection is good, but it is difficult to rotate the lens when mounted on a monopod. It is better in use than adding an area swiss plate to the factory supplied foot.

Like everything else I've bought from Kirk, this is a beautifully made, rock solid, sturdy piece of equipment. It's what Nikon should be supplying with the lens. I also purchased the Quick Release Support Bracket in conjunction with the collar for added security in supporting this fairly heavy lens.and have found the combination to work flawlessly. I would definitely recommend both of these units to a friend.
