RODNEY C : Is a particular plate required for the L-bracket?GINO R : To use this plate for the Canon 60D all you need is an arca swiss ball head which most of the tripod heads come with. The arca swiss tripod ball head clamps the plate within its groove and holds the camera tight in place. I am using this plate and works well on the Canon 60D.
RAMESH S : what is the reason for two screw holes in the bracket? any specific reason? Thanks.GINO R : I have this bracket and it fits the 60D very well. As far as I know I only used the one hole that you see the screw through, and that is the hole aligned to fit in the 60D. The other one could be to attach some additional plate to the existing bracket.NANCY G : You could mount the L bracket to a standard mounting plate and clamp the standard plate to the tripod head. I have a Manfrotto tripod head with a lever release, and when used with the L bracket (which is narrower than a standard plate), accidentally pulling the lever release on the tripod head could cause the camera to come loose. I never thought of this until I saw your question, thanks for asking.
Jeff M : Does this work with the 60D's rebellious sibling the t3i?GINO R : I am not certain if it will work with the T3I camera. I purchased the bracket because I use it on a Kirk plate and rail that I already own and it is very stable to shoot in portrait or landscape orientation. I have used the L bracket from Kirk on my 5D mark2 as well the one made for the 5D mark2 with very good results to shoot panoramas.

I usually leave an L bracket attached to the camera when I'm using a tripod. The Kirk products always fit the camera perfectly and are very well made with a nice finish.

On both of its sides, the lightweight aluminum BL-60D L-Bracket is compatible with Arca-Swiss-Style quick-release clamps. It mounts to your 60D via a standard 1/4"-20 screw.

The single piece of machined 6061TG aluminum has been designed to preserve your access to all important camera controls, such as the rubber side hatches, the battery compartment, the remote switch (even in the vertical format) and the camera strap loop. Notched into both the horizontal and the vertical segments are sensor-centering lines - specific to the 60D, of course.
