hai h : Could you tell me what is that little hole near the central hole for? Why the qrc 2.0 version does not have it? Is it a kinda removable pin when we screw in a M3 screw? Thank you.GINO R : The middle little hole allows for the bracket to be screwed on an rail which Kirk Enterprises sells. Go to their website to see the railing.ANDREW R : Unfortunately none of Kirk's available literature gives any indication regarding that thread's use. It might be used with a set screw to help lock the QR clamp to the head you're mounting it to.

Kirk Quick Release Clamp

I'm going to use this clamp for use with my 80-400 Nikon lens on my d7100. I will use it to shoot video. I like the feel of the clamp, it's sturdy. My only complaint is that it didn't come with a reduction bushing. But that's a very small issue

The Kirk QRC-2.5 Quick Release Clamp is a 2.5" long clamp that is compatible with all Arca-Swiss-type plates and mounts. The clamp is made of lightweight aluminum and stainless steel construction to provide long-lasting dependability. No internal mechanisms are exposed and this clamp engineered with safety stop relief grooves that provide improved versatility when mated with Kirk camera plates. Kirk plates are designed so that they will slide halfway across the clamp before stopping, giving you greater control without sacrificing flexibility.

Just one quarter turn of the locking knob allows the camera mounted to the plate to be easily adjusted along its path or, if the safety stops are not used, to be removed entirely from the side. A full turn allows the camera to be removed from the top.
