Ektar is a classic, and with good reason. The colors are saturated and still life like. And for all who say that it is not good for portraits - I disagree. Occasionally, white people's skin may appear a bit reddish, but that is easily remedied by taking the photos in open shade. Other skin colors are reproduced very true to life. One of my favorite film stocks!

Ektar is my favorite 120 negative film. Nearly invisible grain, great outdoor colors, cheaper than Portra... What's not to love?

Ektar is the best color film on the market by far and Adorama is the only place left that doesn?t charge a completely unconscionable price for it.

Probably my favorite film stock for landscape photography. I took some photos this past summer and autumn in Utah and the colors that this film brings out in the landscape are amazing! If you're shooting people in your photos, you may have to adjust for the red tones this film stock brings out in their skin.

I use this for my main landscape shots using a Mamiya RB67 medium format camera. It's the best for rich full colors.

When I am workin on my projects (I am a fine art photographer) I either go with either Portra or Ektar. I have been using this film almost 10 years now. For situations where fine grain, very sharp a bit saturated look with a cinematic touch is required, I tend to choose Ektar (and strongly recommend it). Thank you Kodak!

This film has been in production since the 90s even though many films have been discontinued. Why Kodak Ektar (both 35 mm and 120 formats). The professionals who have continued to shoot with film demand the vibrancy and consistancy this film has continually provided through time! It is an excellent film and the 100 speed creates low grain images. With the manual cameras, a wide variety of options are available for shots in various light condidtions. My only choice!

When Kodak unveiled Ektar 100 in the 35mm size nearly two years ago they proudly proclaimed it to be The World’s Finest Grain Color Negative Film. Kodak also clearly implied that Ektar 100 benefitted from company’s ongoing research on motion pic...
Brilliant when called upon

I've been extremely pleased with my exposures on Ektar. The EV latitude of a color negative film, super-tight grain structure, crisp and vivid colors - coupled with the lower costs of C41 processing (vs. E6) make Ektar an obvious favorite for color film photographers. When paired with the new Portra 160, there's almost nothing that can't be shot. Understanding the natural color bias of each emulsion will help direct good decisions. It's a great time to be a color film photographer with Ektar ...
