I recently was gifted an analog rangefinder from an older relative which started a new obsession for shooting film. Sending it out to be developed quickly became expensive so I started looking into developing myself. D-76 was recommended by a lot of sources, so that's what I went with. I followed the instructions on the bag and the suggested times on my film stock (Kentmere 400). I was pleased with the results! I never thought that I would be able to develop on my own, so overall I am glad I went with this developer. I've developed 4 rolls at a 1:1 ratio and still have plenty of developer left.

D-76 sets the bar for developers. My negatives have gotten better since I started to use it. Can?t go wrong with D-76.

Amazing developer! Great price for a gallon of developer. I have been getting consistent results and fine grain with this D76. Definitely a classic, I would recommend for sure.

Kodak D-76 has been my standard developer for forty years. Have tried others: Rodinal, FG-7, Microdol, D-23 — all developers with a unique character or signature — but nothing hits that middle-of-the-road, full film speed, unblocked highlights, moderately fine grain, and ease of use of D-76. Unfortunately, I was recently sold ten gallons of recalled product, returned at my expense, so you might want to ask ahead before you place your order.

This is my first experience with powder-based developer and my first time using Kodak D-76. I have used Ilford products in the past and have recently had experience with Rodinal. Compared to those, I think D-76 brought more acutance in my photographs, lesser grain and excellent detail. This was at stock dilution. More than happy with my purchase.
