Jacöbo E : EXPIRY DATE PLEASE?Jacöbo E : and i hope you answer me some day as i sent e-mail several days ago without any single response back
Shopper : How color correct this film is?compere to elite chrome 100.I need it for intraoral photo of teeth.DAVID A : I find that this film tends towards the warm side. It seems to punch up the reds and yellows. I would use the professional e100g for accurate color rendition. I also understand that Kodak has stopped production of their amateur (elite chrome) color slide films. If you wish to use fuji films, I would use provia 100. I hope this helps.ROBERT F : I believe the film is one of the most color saturated films Kodak sells but it seems to shift over to a more purple tint. I am sure it would work fine for the closeups but I (highly) recommend the Ektachrome E100VS for the most accurate color saturated film I know. I love it and its a joy to work with. Sorry I am late with the response. God Bless, Bob Fleckenstein, Lancaster, Ca.JAMES N : To my eyes, Extra color has stronger reds and greens, but not by a lot. I would think you would be better off with the more natural Elite 100. However, I would try them both and compare.Eldad D : I don't knowDAN C : It'll be accurate if a bit more saturated than standard Elite chrome. Kodak chrome has more neutral color balance than anything Fuji does in my experience. Sadly it's all discontinued by Kodak and when remaining stocks run out, that'll be the sad end of an era.JAMES B : Color is almost exact, but slightly enhanced. Extra color is much more brilliant.MARK P : If you need accurate color rendition for medical uses I wouldn't use this. It's a very nice saturated film for travel and landscapes. I think that especially with artificial light/flash that things like teeth and skin probably aren't going to be quite accurate.TONY S : For intraoral photo of teeth, I would suggest using the Elite Chrome rather than the extra color since the latter has more color saturation and more vividness. It is comparable to Fujichrome Velvia. It would be more suitable for nature photos.DARREN K : It is color correct like Elite Chrome 100 but more saturated. You would be better off using Elite Chrome 100 for more neutral color, contrast, and saturation.CHRISTOPHER M : It's going to be a more saturated that normal elite chrome, but not extremely saturated like Velvia. I would recommend Fuji's Provia as the most producing the most correct colors (among slide films still in production) Provia is a "professional" film unlike Elite Chrome which is a "consumer" film. Generally, for most people it doesn't matter greatly, but consumer films will shift colors slightly as they age. That is why professional slide films are refrigerated.DOUGLAS V : Elite Chrome EBX 100 Extra is one of my favorite slide films for outdoor landscape photography because it is a very saturated high contrast film that really brings out the colors of nature. It does not have a lot of exposure latitude so you must meter fairly accurately in order to get good digital scans. It does a fairly good with skin tones but would not be my first choice for 'people' type pictures.Standard Elite Chrome EB 135 100 would be a better choice for more accurate color rendition. It is very accurate and I would not hesitate to use it for the type photography you have in mind.I think you will be very pleased with the results. It is a step up from long discontinued Agfa RSX 100 for accurate color rendition.I believe it is still available so I would grab some soon before it is sold out.Kodak has discontinued this film but the batches I've purchased from Adorama have all been fresh stock with plenty of shelf life .I would recommend you buy it in bulk and freeze it so you have plenty for the future. It holds up very well for long durations if frozen to prevent ageing.I hope I've been of some help ! I've shot Kodak Elite Chromes since the film first came on the market 20 years ago and still love it like the first roll I shot. Can't beat the price too.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?TONY S : I use it mainly for underwater photography where saturation and vividness is important. This was original intended as sub. for Velvia.DARWIN Y : NEVER RECEIVED THIS ITEM, HAVE DISPUTE OPEN!!!!!!!

Excellent slide film for the money

This film is excellent for the money. It is a different animal than Velvia, but that is not a strike against it. Like other reviews mention, -1/3 exposure makes the color pop. It is fairly forgiving for slide film, but not compared to C-41. I took pictures of architecture that was in the foreground of beautiful orchards underneath a blue/purple/peach sunset and I was very happy with its warm "te(k)nicolor"-like hues. I also took it to a couple of car shows and it was a great performer for low grain and saturated colors. I will definitely buy more.

I tried it, I liked it.I'll buy it again

I use this film outside and inside. For my pets and wild animals (roadrunners and rabbits). In my garden (flowers and budding plants). Interesting items as I'm driving (bridges, foot bridges, and water mills). Good all around.

Truly Excellent Slide Film

This is really tops. It's better than just about anything being made today. Better than Velvia in some ways. The dark blue sky after sunset comes out so much better than anything I've seen. Shoot at -1/3 stop for deepest color. Best choice for scenery. It has more range and much better color than digital. Pick scenes with a lot of color for best results.

Simply Stunning Saturation and Sharpness

EBX (the film edge code for Elite Chrome Extra Color) is a simply stunning film, especially for landscapes, Fall Colors, and sunrises/sunsets. It even does good skin tones, so people shots are no problem. This film was Kodaks answer to Velvia, but the 2 films are very different. EBX is a much more versatile film, being ISO 100, and having good skin tones, unlike Velvia. Well, Velvia is a classic, but EBX stands its own with landscapes, and is excellent as a travel film. My all time favorite slide film.

Not what I'd hoped

I bought this film hoping it might be a replacement for my beloved Kodachrome. It isn't. I do not believe that is anywhere near the quality of film. It even feels thin. The color saturation is average, and the sharpness is not what I am used to. I know this sounds like sour grapes, but I really was disappointed. I rate it as average.

Worth the effort

Worth the effort and expense of E-6 processing. The color saturation is outstanding. I scan my slides myself to a digital medium in large TIFF files. Playing with the RBG histograms in Aperture 2 it provides much more to work with even more than my digital SLR RAW files. Even with slide film's narrow similar to digital's dynamic range. I use Elite Chrome iso 100 extra color for primarily nature shots of scenery. Color is unbelievable. DO NOT take photos of humans with this film. It is not what it is for because white skin looks a bit orange, and black skin has a red unnatural hue. Does well with blue especially. Sorry, but film isn't dead nor will be anytime soon. I use digital for action, people, and ease. But if you are to do scenery shots--use film. The results are spectacular compared to digital. Also, with this product remember you can take it to a lab and have unbelievable optical (analog) to make large sofa size prints for example.

Highest color saturation of any 100 speed consumer slide film on the market today
ELITE Chrome Film is the most versatile film family for capturing a variety of images under different lighting conditions. It is the best family of slide films for delivering both saturated colors and natural skin tones. Its superior grain makes it ideal for projection.
