I love this film. For landscape and architecture, especially at night in cities, it's perfect.

I’ve been shooting Ektar head to head against Provia trying to figure out which one’ll work best for sunrise/sunset photos in Manhattan. They’re different! What I know so far—sunrise/sunset conditions stress both films. Ektar’s proving the easier of the two from which to get a decent looking print from a digital workflow (scanner->Lightroom->print). Alas, neither film gives a Kodachrome-like image in my digital workflow. I have to say that 100% digital when done with quality gear beats film. You still want the film route? Prepare to spend mucho time optimizing scanning and assuaging frustrations. Next for me will be 100% wet chemistry for a C-print to use as a reference against the film/digital workflow.

It’s the sharpest color film available. It’s a very good option in a set of very few options.

Almost as fast as digital but you get spectacularly sharp 240 MB images. C-41 chemistry is super easy to develop and scan the same day. Super thin emulsion gives sharper images than any other color or B&W I have used.

Shoot with this in the studio using strobes. Reads light beautifully, and and is incredibly easy to color correct when scanning.

I typically dislike C-41 film. However, Ektar is the only exception, I love this stuff. Nail the exposure like you would with slide film, and you will be treated to a look half way between Provia and Velvia, with more latitude than either, good skin tones, but vastly less expensive. Scans very well. Don't let the price fool you, this is really good stuff, I will be buying more.

I shoot using pinholes and technical camera's. This film gives very rich colors and is very easy to scan. Really, the only con I can think of is you can't by boxes of 50 sheets or more, which would be so much handier.

This film and its predecessor sizes are so good that I am shooting 4x5 color film again for the first time in over 20 years. Primarily using for close-up shots such as saturated flowers, high key downtown night-time shots, some landscape where I desire extra punch in the image, shots with a lot of red in the scene, basically just about everything except portraiture. I'm just so happy Kodak released this in 4x5 sizes! Great stuff!
