Good not great
Best for people on a budget, who still want the 400 iso speed. If you are fine with a lower speed, I would go with the Gold 200.

Beginner friendly
Bought this as a beginner roll to use with my Ektar half frame 35mm, not too expensive and good colors. Great for practice before moving on to anything more expensive

Nice color but too much grains
Nice color! Not too warm or saturated, just on point. The only thing that turned me off was the grain. Just a little bit too much

Kodak Ultramax 400
This is a great alternative to other higher priced color negative films with the traditional Kodak warm tones. It's versatile, good for daylight and lowlight shooting too. And has the right amount of grain which adds to the prints.

Great colors & sharpness
Being a forever Portra400 user, I've never found a film that I've liked enough to match the colors and texture. However, Portra is definitely still on the pricier end, so I decided to test out a few more rolls to see what might work. I didn't have super high hopes for the UltraMax 400 when I got it, thinking it would be overly saturated and not sharp enough. However, I've been very pleasantly surprised thus far! The colors pop for sure, but not in a bubble gum way. They bring many of my nature shots to life, and give an interesting look to my urban shots. I'm glad to have finally found an alternative to Portra that I can use regularly without breaking the bank.

Happy to return to film
After many years, I'm returning to traditional picture taking, never being a fan of digital. Still American made, which pleasantly surprised me. Speaking as an amateur.
