-KM-16 Parabolic Microphone -
The Klover MiK 16 is our mid-size parabolic microphone. It turns your omni-directional mic into a long-range microphone that gathers audio from long distances. This long-distance microphone is capable of capturing conversations from up to 300 feet.
Dish Assembly
Handles (Horizontal & Vertical)
Microphone Yoke with Lavaliere Mic Adapter
The unique, modular design Klover MiK 16 employs specifically-designed handles and microphone yoke, which will protect the more expensive collector dish in case of an accident. Any subsequently damaged components can be replaced on an individual basis.
Only Capture The Sound You Want
Clear And Crisp Audio Recording
Our competitors don't even compare to the definition that the Klover MiK is capable of generating. All of the sound energy is focused on a single point by a collector dish's "true" parabolic shape. The non-parabolic shape of the competition scatters sound energy, focusing it on various different locations. Only a percentage of the sound energy actually ends up being focused on the microphone.
Most parabolic microphones cause the dish to generate unwelcome, squeaking noises that can ruin the audio. This is due to movement between components and the plastic dish. This is not true of the Klover MiK 16-their connections are made with vibration isolation components to eliminate these superfluous noises.
The Dish Makes All The Difference
All parabolic microphones have dishes; however, many of these dishes are not a true parabola. They are designed to be able to adjust or focus the dish on a particular target. In other words, you could place the pickup microphone at a certain location for sounds, say 300 feet away; and then adjust the pickup microphone for sounds 100 feet away.
Unfortunately, in order to achieve this, the shape of the parabolic dish is no longer a true parabola. The shape of the dish has to be compromised, resulting in most of the sound not being focused on the electronic pickup.
Applications For Parabolic Microphones
Military / Security
The long range use of parabolic microphones allows surveillance to be carried out from a safe distance without detection.
Fire & Rescue
Parabolic microphones are used broadly in search and rescue efforts. In tests, calls for help, have been heard over a mile away.
Broadcasting
Parabolic microphones are used at almost every type of professional sport. In addition, they can be used to pick up speakers in a crowd.
Panel Discussions
High performance parabolic microphones can be used to mic members of a panel discussion without equipping.
Open Meetings / Q&A
A high quality parabolic microphone can be used to amplify the comments or questions of attendees at open meetings.
Houses of Worship
A single parabolic microphone located in the rear of the auditorium can pick up the speaker regardless.
Nature Study
Parabolic microphones can be used to record the sounds of nature without disturbing the habitat.
- Sound Devices MM-1 Microphone Preamplifier -
Highly versatile and portable, Sound Devices' MM-1 is a single-channel, portable microphone preamplifier with a powerful headphone monitoring function. Proven in mission-critical applications, the high-performance microphone preamp's transformer-balanced input and output and bipolar +/-15 volt power supply produce low-noise, low-distortion gain at all switch positions. It features an "unclippable" dual-stage limiter and two-position high-pass filter. Flexible microphone powering provides phantom power at 48 volts or 12 volts and 12-volt T-power. It is powered from two-AA batteries or external 5-18 VDC.
- Sennheiser MKE-2 microphone -
The Sennheiser MKE2 miniature omni-directional lavalier condenser microphone with XLR connection is an industry favorite among field audio engineers, broadcast engineers and film crews. It features a wide frequency and high sensitivity response. Ideal for vocals and instruments.
- Remote Audio HN7506 Headphones -
These surprisingly comfortable phones have been a big hit for professionals who want to protect their ears while monitoring the quality of their recordings. Sealing off outside ambience by as much as 45dB, the HN-7506 is designed to sound like the industry standard Sony MDR-7506 and allows the switch from one to another without loss of monitoring standard and reliability. Sound mixers often find themselves in very high noise environments such as helicopters, raceways, firing ranges, rock concerts, etc., left with ringing ears and wondering what was actually being recorded.
Providing extreme isolation from outside noise and using Sony MDR-7506 drivers with special baffling, the Remote Audio HN-7506 allows accurate, full-range monitoring in loud environments and adds a high degree of protection from hearing damage while giving the user the familiar sound of the industry standard Sony headphones.
