How can you capture high-quality audio from great distances The answer lies in the Klover MiK 26 Parabolic Collector, a key component of our KM-26 kits. This parabolic microphone transforms your omni-directional microphone into a long-range audio capturing device, capable of picking up conversations from up to 600 feet away.
The MiK 26 Parabolic Collector is a trusted tool in the broadcast industry, frequently spotted on the sidelines of professional football games. However, its applications extend beyond sports broadcasting. It's also utilized for military and tactical purposes, as well as fire and rescue operations.
The Klover MiK 26 boasts a patented modular design, allowing for easy replacement of individual components if damaged. The handles and microphone yoke are designed to protect the more expensive collector dish, sacrificing themselves if necessary. This modular system can be easily updated to incorporate new features, and the standard cross-bar can be replaced with a monopod/tripod mount for reduced operator strain.
The collector dish of the Klover MiK 26 is designed with a "True" parabolic shape, focusing all sound energy on a single point for crisp and clear audio recording. This design outperforms competitor dishes, which focus sound energy on different locations, resulting in less sound energy being focused on the microphone.
The Klover MiK 26 also incorporates vibration isolation components in all connections, eliminating unwanted noises caused by movement between components. This ensures that your audio recording remains clear and free from irritating squeaking noises.
The KM-26 kit also includes the Sound Devices MM-1 Microphone Preamplifier, a single-channel, portable device with a powerful headphone monitoring function. This high-performance preamp features a transformer-balanced input and output, an "unclippable" dual-stage limiter, and a two-position high-pass filter. It can be powered by two AA batteries or an external 5-18 VDC.
Rounding out the kit is the Countryman B3 Lavalier Microphone, a water-resistant, miniature, omni-directional lavalier condenser microphone with an XLR connector. This compact microphone is perfect for capturing audio in a variety of settings, from panel discussions to nature studies.
In summary, the KM-26 kit, featuring the Klover MiK 26 Parabolic Collector, Sound Devices MM-1 Microphone Preamplifier, and Countryman B3 Lavalier Microphone, provides a comprehensive solution for capturing high-quality audio from great distances. Whether you're in broadcasting, security, or nature study, this kit has you covered.
