I use it with my XT-30. Here are some tips. 1. Switch to M on the M-C-S dial on the front of the camera 2. In the AF/MF menu, set MF Assist to Focus Peak Highlight. I prefer RED (HIGH). 3. In the AF/MF menu, set Focus Check to ON 4. In the Camera menu, change Mount Adaptor Setting to 50mm 5. In the Setting menu (wrench icon), go to Button/Dial Setting, then set Shoot Without Lens to ON 6. Press and hold DISP/BACK button, scroll down to R-DIAL, then choose Focus Check When I shoot manual, the focus peak areas will be highlighted in red. In addition, I can press the R-DIAL button (the dial between AEL and AFL buttons) to zoom in and help me check the focus. I rarely failed shooting this lens with these awesome manual focus assist tools. This lens is amazing for its price!

I have the original version of this lens for MFT system and I've enjoyed using it on occasion. This updated version is supposed to be much improved so, when the price dropped to a super appealing level recently, I thought it was time to try it on a slightly larger format so got it for my Fuji system. It's a chunky little lens. Well made with a smooth, well-damped focus ring that turns nearly 180 degrees from infinity to MFD with markings for distance you can also reference to depth of field marks. The aperture ring is also smooth but, perhaps a bit heavily damped for my preference. Its does stay where you put it tho. It also makes a slight mechanical sound when being moved so if using this for video a built-in mic might pick up that sound. Fit and finish quality are very good. I find that despite is weight it feels very nicely balanced and comfortable to use on my Fuji X-S10. Wide open this lens gulps photons from the environment and spews them all over your sensor. And it's not too particular about it when wide open so it shows a variety of aberrations altho the center is OK. Is that a bad thing? No, not necessarily. If you expect a wide aperture lens like this to give you crisp detail across the frame when wide open you are out of luck with this one. Just check the price tag to remember what league this lens is in. There it is nearly untouchable for such a fast aperture at a low cost. Once you start to stop it down, however, this lens really starts to change how it renders. Wide open it shows lots of lateral and longitudinal CA, contrast is low, everything is kind of soft except the center area... What's that good for then?.. A nice low-light portrait with the surroundings rendered into blurry oblivion. Close the aperture down to f/1.8 to f/2 and you'll see it start to put more detail in the center and all the way out to the corners altho the center area is still way ahead. By f/4 to f/5.6 you are getting a sharp and contrasty image across the frame with f/8 providing landscape usable sharpness corner to corner. There's still a bit of lateral CA you can correct in post if you wish but if there are no high contrast elements in your compositions borders you might not even notice any issues. So, is this a 'great' lens? I'd have to say, "No." But it is a pretty good lens. Just get familiar with its character and learn how to use its strengths and weaknesses to your advantage in your images. Combine that with the very wide aperture ability for low light or shallow depth of field that it offers and compare it to the price you can get it for it does become a 'great deal,' IMO. I'm going to try include a few samples here from my first shoot with it. I am not including any close-up shots this time that would display the sort of character you can get from it at very large apertures. The few close up shots I did, both wide open and stopped down, I was satisfied with so nothing objectionable was seen in that type of usage. RKS 20220505

For Sony E. Let me start off by saying it is VERY heavy, easily my heaviest current lens. It is, after all, solid metal, even the lens hood. Good build quality as far as I can tell. Great colors, haven't had any issues with CA, Amazing aperture. Just keep in mind that this isn't a $800+ lens. If you need a bokeh lens this is the only one I can recommend for Sony, unless you are able to spend quadruple what this one goes for. I wish there were a Full-Frame equivalent!

Only $250 with World class of reader lens What ?s more to need , good balance at hand night or day or studio shooting , natural fantastic color Ultra sharp at corner to corner . I? ll buy Laowa?s new full frame 35 mm f/0.95 lens . Ttartisan. 90 mm f/1.25 lens. Enjoy your photo life style.

This lens is okay in terms of performance. It's not very sharp. I didn't like the flaring either. It's a fun lens for select artistic compositions. Aside from the fun things you can do with this lens' bokeh. It's not that practical unless you're really budget constrained. I returned mine as it wasn't quite what I was looking for.

For the money this thing is great. My copy is well centered. While I prefer a clicked aperture this declicked aperture has a nice amount of resistance to limit accidental changes while remaining smooth to turn. The focus ring is well damped and smooth as well. Real world sharpness in the center from wide open with a small amount of glow. Stopped down to f5.6 you'll be fine shooting for across the frame sharpness. I wouldn't buy it for that but you can certainly use it stopped down if something presents itself without having to change lenses. It looks great and balances much better on my A6500 than I expected. Honestly 5 stars for the money.

I purchased this lens twice. The first time it did not mount on to my black magic pocket cinema camera 4K. So I returned it and ordered another one thinking that I just got a defected item. The replacement lens also did not mount. So I did some digging around on Kamlan's website and discovered in their comments section that there are other people who are having the same issues with getting it to mount to a Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 4k. There are complaints going back as far as 5 months ago so it's obvious that Kamlan is aware of this issue yet they have not addressed it at all. They're continuing to market this lens as a micro 4/3 even after numerous complaints which doesn't seem right to me. There are some people who said they've gotten this lens to mount to a BMPCC4K. So it looks like some lenses are defected and some aren't. But for any BMPCC4k owners out there thinking about purchasing this lens, just know that there's a good chance that it wont mount.

This is an amazing lens for the price. Everything you've heard about the bokeh is true! Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K users beware though: this lens *will not* lock on to the camera! My experience is that you can get the lens fitted on to the lens mount but it will not turn so that it can be turned (it only manages to turn a tiny bit before something feels like it's preventing it from turning all the way to lock). Surprisingly, the lens manages to stay on but the slightest twist will disengage it from the mount (I have to turn the focus and aperture rings very slowly to prevent this). The only other similar experiences I've heard is some comments from the original Kickstarter page and a sprinkle on Youtube pages about this Kamlan lens (mainly from me asking if anyone has had similar experiences). Adorama Support is unaware of others having the same problem so .. go figure. I love the lens so much I can only give it one star off despite this problem :)

Excellent on all fronts. From F2 it is equal or better than the Fuji 50mm F2 WR. Of course this Kamlan lens is manual focus and manual aperture.

I hesitate to say that for the money this is 5 stars....because I think it would be for even a bit more. Really happy with the purchase. I don't really see any meaningful softness in the corners wide open, and for me that's the reason to buy this. All about subject isolation for me and this thing is really well built. Highly recommended.

Can't beat it for the price, only complaint is that there is a lot of chromatic aberation. Other than that it's a great quality lens all around
