I am using this lens with my Nikon D3300 camera. I got it mainly to boost the DF-S ED 70-300 lens I have. Not had a whole lot of time with it so far but in manual mode the shots I have taken have turned out. I highly recommend it for the photographer on a budget.

I used this with a Nikon D7000 and a Nikon 18-200 telephoto lens. It goes on the camera easily and the lens attaches easily. There is a small amount of play but not enough to be sensed during use. The lens autofocuses and extends reach as expected. The image seems to loose about 1 1/2 stops of light with the teleconverter, about what I expected, but that makes using the teleconverter marginal or unusable at dawn, late afternoons, on very cloudy days, or when the subject is in shade. Pictures came out a bit softer than without the teleconverter in all light, even bright sunshine. I don't know if that's due to optics, higher ISO, or slower shutter speed. Without it being a conscious decision, I find that I'm not using this, even in bright sunlight. I'd probably not buy this again and not recommend its use for my main subjects, birds.

This teleconverter is nice because it gives the real f-stop of the lens plus the converter and sends the full EXIF data to the image file. However, the first one I received had major auto-focusing issues and major chromatic aberration. Adorama was very helpful in giving me return shipping and exchanging the first one; what a difference! The sharpness is the best I've seen in a teleconverter, and it has been my new favorite toy for portrait shoots. Four stars only for first one being a dud.

Have Kenko 1.4x & 2.0x and use with TAMRON 70 to 200mm f2.8 on a Sony 77a Body. 1.4x is easy focus. Slightly less resolution than with out Extender but highly acceptable.

I am using this with the Nikon 24mm - 120mm f4 and it is giving fast accurate focus and adds a decent reach. The lens becomes an f5.6 but is quite manageable in most cases.

I purchased this primarily for use with an older, fast lens (Nikkor 80-200 f2.8). Out of curiosity, I tried it with a newer, slow lens (Nikon 18-300) and was pleasantly surprised to find that the auto focus and metering worked perfectly with no discernable loss of image quality. I use this setup in a bird blind with a flash unit so the largest effective aperture when zoomed to 300mm, f.8, still allows fast enough shutter speeds.

I bought this primarily for use with an older Nikkor 80-200 2.8 lens with which it works well with no discenable loss of image quality. Out of curiosity, I tried it with a Nikkor 18-300 lens, a slower lens, and found that the auto focus and metering work well. Because I use a flash for most shots, I can get excellent images at apertures of f8-f11. Very happy with this item.

I needed 500mm but didn't want to spend $5000. Plus any added physical length is just a hindrance and obviously even heavier. Plus I need variability. This unit combined with the SAL70400g is a fantastic combo and the surprise is that the EXIF data is transfered to my a77! Evidently there were at one time two different models of teleconverter by Kenko, one being a 'pro' model. This model however is perfect for my needs and give surprisingly good results for an amateur.

I bought this product at the recommendation of a fellow photographer specifically for use with the Canon 70-300L lens. Of course you need to be shooting with a Canon Series 1 body which will enable you to AF @f8 with this converter. I was initially skeptical that something this inexpensive could deliver quality images, especially since this lens is incompatible with Canon converters but I was dead wrong... this converter is a gem! I've gotten crisp, sharp images on the 70-300L with this converter

A perfectly normal teleconverter. Does just what it should. As with any teleconverter I have tried it does decrease image sharpness a little bit, but not by much. For the price, it is a really good one. Works well with the lenses I have tried it with (of various brands).

I purchased this product to add reach to one 200mm and one 300mm lens. From my relatively short experience, it appears that this product does the job intended. Resolution is not degraded and the loss of one stop is acceptable.

I tried this tele-converter with my EOS 5D mark 2. Very reasonable results with the 24-105 L series lens and I got very good auto focus on the 100-400 L series lens, but at the full extent of the lens's magnification you get some serious vignette. Bad enough to make it unusable.
