Questions & Answers

Shopper : is this revised version after recall?SAM G : This is a new product. Other tubes were 100% manual and had no elec connections for autofocus, autoaperture etc as these do. They work great.THOMAS R : I did not know about a recall, I need to research that. I use the smaller tube with the 45 1.8, tubes are well made for sure and tiny. I also own the Nikon versions, Kenko is very reputable. Good luck HARISH H : I do not know as the box does not say so. But, these work as expected with my M4/3 lens. AF is good, may be a tad slow. Since I use it in MF it does not matter. All in all they are good extension tubes with AF capability.GARY K : To be honest, I don't know...in fact, I was not aware of a recall.
Shopper : Is this photo correct? - length of tubes is supposed to be 10 and 16mm, and there are only 2, not 3LEE M : fotogmaestroPHILLIP I : There are two pieces in the set, 10mm and 16mm. Combined they make 26mm, so you have a total of three possible lengths. If your extension length exceeds half the focal length of the lens being used, the image formed will actually appear to be inside the front lens surface. For example, do not try to use the 16mm extension with the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7. You won't be able to get close enough to the subject to be able to focus the image. Remember, the longer the extension, the higher the magnification appears. I hope this helps :)LEE M : there are 3 over all lengths 10mm, 16mm and the 2 together make 26mm, but only the 2 pieces. they are well made, work well with my Olympus 14-150mm lens, not much good under 70mm on a 4/3 have to get too close. you can see some of my photos with the extensions on flickr as: photogmaestroSAM G : You are correct. Adorama's catalog shows a 3 ring set, 100 % manual with no electronic connections that has bee around awhile. These are new, 2 rings: 10mm and 16mm and are automatic with electronic com paths so the camera can communicate with auto-focus/auto-apurture lenses native to M4/3. They work great for all Olympus/Panasonic-Lumix lenses; auto focus and auto apurture both work perfectly. Hurrah!, long time coming. Olympus and or Panasonic should have done it, but, never did. Kudos to KENKO. Coinsider the Olympus Macro-Arm light for lenses 25mm to 100mm because your lens will almost touch the SUBJECT. I used them on a 100-300mm Zoom telephoto to take a head only portrait from 12 feet and got super bokeh. I love these things!
DEGUSS C : Is it still keep the auto focus?GREG A : Yes. Auto focus and aperture function correctlyPHILIP N : yes, work very good with all OMD and Lumix M43 lens.SAM G : Auto focus works and so does auto apurtureGARY K : Yes, it retains the auto focus. And not only does it make it possible to shoot macro images, it also helps to focus closer on an image with a long lens...highly recommend.ANDREW R : Kenko's Auto Focus extension tubes are designed with all the circuitry and mechanical coupling to maintain auto focus and TTL auto exposure with most Micro 4/3 Mounts lenses given there is enough light to activate the cameras AF system properly.

Great for macro work!

Great help to my macro work with my Nikon Z6 II (with F to Z lens adapter). I only wish the box had more charts and guides to see how large the image would be when the extension tubes are applied. The chart I got was for a 50mm lens. I would like to use these tubes to create images larger than 1:1 (which I can get with my Sigma 105mm macro lens. But I would like to know specifically how much larger I can go with the tubes. I'd like to have 2:1 or even 5:1!

As perfect as can be

Perfect fit- the best. My previous (cheap) set locked my lens to it and it took me several days to detach it. This one is smooth as silk.

Well built and excellent performance

Big improvement with its metal construction over the DSLR version that is mostly plastic. Very solid support for the mounted lens. Zero issues with it in use with the Z9 camera.

Improve you macro

These are for the RF lens. They is still the best macro extension tubes, but they are stiffer than my previous Kenko set for my ES lens. They do the job and they do it well.

Great alternative to a dedicated macro lens

I wanted to check out macro before having the expense of a dedicated macro lens. These are perfect with my Canon 50mm lens and work so well that I don't think I'll even bother with the macro. I shoot jewelry so my subjects don't move. I was told AF would not work with these, but it does. Not a feature I'd use often, but nice to know it does work.

Really fun, a little wiggly.

Really decent for the price. Autofocus worked for the g-master 16-35 I was using. The only improvement I can think of is that there is a tiny bit of wiggle at the connection to the lenses. I?d be a lot happier if it was a nice, snug fit.

They work. Since no glass, there's no degradation in image quality. Manual focus, but I like the control of manual focus.

No worth it for the money

For the price they should not wobble when attached to the lens or camera and they should come with a sack for protection or carrying.

Kenko Extension Tubes

Bought these as a back-up, I use these a lot on a zoom. I still shoot film + other units don't register f-stops on my EOS 3 bodies but these do. I do use mainly Canon, but couldn't justify the price.

Great Buy

I wanted to experiment with macro photography and wanted to try an extender ring. This seemed like it might be a good set to try. Not knowing what to expect, I opened this set when it arrived and was pleasantly surprised. The quality was excellent. They fit tightly and worked great.

Cannot stack the three tubes

The tubes do not firmly latch allowing a little bit of twist. It is okay for one tube, but with three tubes, some of the electrical contacts do not make contact. If you can apply a little torque to keep the lens in the as-closed-as-possible position, it works, but that is difficult to do while keeping your hands off the camera to avoid jiggles. :( So no 68mm extension.

Much less expensive that a new lens.

Fit is tight and they work great! Only draw back is the short focal range, but they work the way they are supposed to, and am very happy with my results.

The non-cheap-o quality standard extension tubes

I like the feel of putting these on my camera and connecting it to my lenses. Nice firm feel of mounting and dismounting them with the finger lever put on each tube.

Does the job, but feels flimsy

I bought these to use with my 200mm Macro lens and they do the job but feel very flimsy. It is sometimes difficult to get the lens attached also and there is a strange rattling noise that comes from them.

Nice set

By DARIN M.

I use these tubes when I want to get close to very small subjects. Depth of field is greatly reduced so you need to use a high F number (smaller aperture). Flash is also helpful but not always necessary.

versatile, inexpensive way to try macro

By TOM C.

I got the Kenko extension tubes set to try my hand at macro photography with my Nikon D5000. I mostly use the Nikon 55-200mm VR lens for this purpose, and find that it works very well with these extension tubes. The Kenko DG tubes are electronically fully compatible with Nikon AF-S lenses. Metering is fully supported with these tubes and you can even auto-focus if you like. I have tried both auto-focusing and manually focusing in Live mode with the Adorama budget focusing rails. How can you transform your photography and delve into the world of macro imagery without investing in a dedicated macro lens The DG Auto Extension Tube Set for the Micro Four Thirds Mount is your gateway to magnification and detailed close-ups. Designed to enable lenses to focus closer than their normal minimum focusing distance, these extension tubes magnify your subject, making it appear larger in the viewfinder and in your captured images. They are an invaluable tool for macro photography, allowing you to convert almost any lens into a macro lens while preserving its original optical quality.

Crafted with precision, the DG Auto Extension Tube Set includes two tubes of different lengths - a 10mm and a 16mm - which can be used individually or combined to achieve your desired level of magnification. These high-quality, durable tubes have no optics of their own. Instead, they create additional distance between the lens and the camera's sensor, compelling the lens to focus much closer than usual. The longer the extension tube used, the closer your lens can focus, providing versatility in how you capture your subjects.

The DG Auto Extension Tube Set is engineered with the necessary circuitry and mechanical coupling to maintain auto focus and TTL auto exposure with most Micro Four Thirds lenses, ensuring that your photography experience is seamless and efficient. However, it's important to note that using extension tubes limits the lens's ability to focus to infinity, and the focus range will be confined to a very close distance. Additionally, light fall-off is a consideration; using multiple extension tubes together can result in the equivalent of up to 3 f-stops of light loss, which may impact the camera's auto-focus capability. In such cases, manual focusing is recommended to ensure sharp, precise images.

Compact and affordable, this extension tube set is perfect for photographers who seek to explore macro photography with their Olympus and Panasonic Lumix cameras. Whether you're capturing the intricate details of a flower, the delicate wings of an insect, or the textures of everyday objects, this extension tube set offers a practical and cost-effective solution. While stacking is not possible with certain lenses like the Panasonic 45MM Macro and PZ 45-175MM, all Micro Four Thirds lenses are compatible with either the 10mm or 16mm tube individually, ensuring a broad range of use cases and creative possibilities.

Embrace the world of close-up photography with the DG Auto Extension Tube Set for the Micro Four Thirds Mount, and discover the potential to create stunning, magnified images with the equipment you already own.
