.1 x Focal Length = magnification. Good optics, very useful.

First off, the blurb for this product states "10x so that a 100mm lens would have the same magnification as a 1,000mm", however the manual you receive states that it is a .1 x Focal Length magnification (.1 x 300 = 30x magnification. I find the manual's version accurate. I'm using it with a manual focus Tamron 500mm f8 mirror and a Tamron 70-300 f5.6. Clarity and contrast are very high with these lenses. The plastic tripod foot is OK, but not for these heavier lenses (introduces annoyijng wobble). Using the metal lens tripod mounts is much steadier. Overal an excellent investment to get good use out of some old lenses.

Exactly what I expected.

I am very pleased with this device. I have used it on my 18-300mm and 50-500 mm lenses and was very surprised how clear and bright the view is even at maximum range.

Great way to use you tele-photo lenses

I have a Rolleiflex 350/5.6 (for 6006) bought brand new back when film was the only option in photography. Fast forward to the digital age, this expensive piece of fantastic glass was sitting in the drawer doing nothing, so I ordered a custom made adapter to fit the Sony A mount. After trying it out in the field, it proofs to be too heavy and slow (manual focus), so again sat in the drawer until I found this 7mm Lens2Scope adapter. A regular 2X tele adapter will double your focal length, but at the same time reduce the light by two f-stops, so my first concern is how dark will it be looking through the adapter. Turns out I can use it as a telescope at night, and watching the moon requires sun glasses! Looking at point sources (stars) confirms that chromatic aberration is well controlled. Contrast is a bit low but still acceptable. Overall I’m very happy with it.
