It's a great film if you want nice contrasty scans for social media. There is a lot of flexibility in digital scans. However, I darkroom print and I find Kodak's B&W films more difficult to work with in the darkroom than other B&W film like Ilford Delta or Fuji Acros. T-Max doesn't handle highlights as well as them. I end up having to do a lot of dodging and burning to control the outcome. But digital scans look great for that documentary look with deep blacks and crisp whites, especially when pushed a stop.

I'm all about grain, or rather the lack of it, so this is my go to film.

Does what it says- it?s the sharpest 400 speed black and white film out there. Buying 100? at a time is a great way to save a bit of $$, although maybe not quite as much as on some other films.

Adorama is always easy to work with and a quick delivery! I live on a small island in Alaska... and the box came a little beat up and one of the developing powder bags was broken and spilled all over my order. No damage was done to the rest of my order, it was just a little work to clean up the developing powder. This is the only place I order from! And really enjoy the quality and quantity of materials they have for the "film lovers."

I have used this very good product for many, many years. It was a significantly better product than what was previously available when it first came on the market. I have used it in 35mm, 2 1/4 since the 1980's along with its sister product, T-max 100. I specifically look for a long tone range and excellent detail and acutance in a film such as this and it always delivers if properly exposed and developed.

Even though the cost may be raising a little. It is still a lot cheaper than buy individual rolls of film that are raising in price even more than the bulk film is.

Not a lot of experience with developing my own film, but I haven't had any problems with this and will by it again. I have shot this film at 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 with suprisingly good results.

Of course this product performs well, but the cost of the product is becoming prohibitive.

My go to film

I'm all about grain, or rather the lack of it, so this is my go to film.
KODAK T-MAX 400 Professional Film is a continuous-tone panchromatic black-and-white negative film especially useful for photographing dimly lighted subjects or fast action, for extending flash distance range, and for photographing subjects that require good depth of field and fast shutter speeds with maximum image quality for the film speed. It is also useful for scientific and biomedical work, especially when fluorescence photography is required. It has high speed (ISO 400/27½ in most developers), very high sharpness, extremely fine grain, and high resolving power; it allows a high degree of enlargement.
A continuous tone, panchromatic black-and-white negative film that is especially useful for photographing dimly lighted subjects, fast action, extended range flash pictures, and subjects that require good depth of field. This film is highly useful for scientific and biomedical work, especially when fluorescence photography is required. Its high speed (EI 400), very high sharpness, extremely fine grain, and high resolving power enable a high degree of enlargement. You can expose it at a speed of EI 800 with normal processing, or at EI 1600 with push-processing to obtain excellent results.
