FAQ

What is the benefit of using a high-speed, ISO 400/27-degree panchromatic film like the Kodak Tri-X Pan 400?

High-speed panchromatic films like the Kodak Tri-X Pan 400 are excellent for capturing sharp images in low-light conditions or fast-paced action. They also provide a good depth of field and fast shutter speeds.

What does it mean that the 120-size film can be retouched on the emulsion side?

Retouching the film on the emulsion side means that you can make adjustments or corrections directly on the film after it has been developed. This gives photographers additional creative control in post-production.

What is push-processing and why is the Kodak Tri-X Pan 400 suitable for it?

Push-processing is a technique used in film development to increase the effective speed of the film in order to compensate for underexposure. The Kodak Tri-X Pan 400 is suitable for this technique due to its high-speed and flexible ISO rating.

Is the Kodak Tri-X Pan 400 film suitable for both professional photographers and hobbyists?

Yes, the Kodak Tri-X Pan 400 film is a versatile choice that can deliver high-quality results for both professional photographers and hobbyists alike.

Can the Kodak Tri-X Pan 400 film be used in a variety of camera types?

IGOR B : Hi, What expiration date for this films?Sean B : Depends on when you buy it, you get about two years on most or more, as 400 TX is a widely used film. That date is best performance by date, if you freeze it and or keep it cool it could last decades. I use film past the date no problem.THOMAS J : its monochrome film should last passed expiration date. Years ago (1980's) I processed some B&W film that was exposed the 50's pictures came out just fine.
Justin Nico A : Are your films expired or fresh?ALYSSA W : Fresh, expire in 2020Russ L : The film I bought recently expires in about two years.ANTHONY E : Adorama sells only unexpired film to my knowledge.
Denis C : Are the various Black and white 35mm films DX coded for use in a Pentax SF10? I am interested in the KODAK ISO 400TX for desert photography, mainly cactus plants.Sean B : Yes, all 135 35mm films from Kodak are DX coded, make sure you only use DX coded B&W or color film with the SF10 as this can not be set manually.BRIAN B : KODAK holds or held the patent for DX coding from way back in 1983, so I would venture a very stable guess that ALL KODAK films, especially, for 35mm are DX coded. I would also venture that most 35mm films...Ilford, Fuji, Agfa...etc are also DX coded by now. This applies to cartridge films only.
