Love the minilogue so far.
Amazing Synth!
I have been playing piano/keyboards for 50 years, but this is my first analog synth. I am very pleased with it! I had been looking at other models (Subsequent 37, Deepmind 12, and Minilogue). The Moog is awesome, but a little pricey for me. The Deepmind has a better price, but the signal path on it seems a little limiting and many of the controls are only accessible through menus (not on the front panel). This next-generation synthesizer is a fusion of analog and digital, offering limitless possibilities for musicians and producers. It's an evolution of the original minilogue, retaining its authentic analog sound while introducing a digital multi-engine, expanded sequencer, micro tuning functionality, and a suite of high-quality digital effects.
The minilogue xd features a 2VCO + MULTI ENGINE, 1VCF, 2EG, 1VCA, and 1LFO voice structure, allowing for a wide range of sound creation. From warm pads typical of analog to fat basses and crisp lead sounds, this synthesizer covers every musical situation. It also comes loaded with 200 presets, with the capacity to save up to 500 programs.
The digital multi-engine, acting as a third oscillator, offers sound design possibilities beyond the reach of analog systems. It includes a noise generator, a VPM (Variable Phase Modulation)/FM oscillator, and user oscillators, allowing you to load your own programs or those obtained online.
The minilogue xd also boasts high-quality digital effects using 32-bit floating point DSP processing. These effects, including modulation, reverb, and delay, can be used simultaneously, adding a finishing touch to your sound design.
The synthesizer's interface is thoughtfully designed for ease of use. A joystick controls pitch bend and modulation depth, while the voice mode offers four options: POLY, UNISON, CHORD, and ARP/LATCH. The micro tuning function allows you to adjust the pitch of each key individually, with 23 preset tunings and the ability to create and store six user scales and six user octaves.
The minilogue xd also features a larger organic EL display with oscilloscope functionality, providing real-time visual feedback of your sound design. The display can also show motion view for visualizing the movement of a stored motion sequence.
The synthesizer is equipped with a full complement of input and output jacks, including stereo output, a damper jack, and two CV IN jacks. These jacks can input modulation signals, allowing you to control parameters in the same way as moving the joystick up or down.
