The Korg Monologue is a fantastic and fun two oscillator fully analog monosynth with selectable ring mod or sync on oscillator two. It lends itself naturally to bass tones and produces them well and with ease. Programming is fluid as almost every parameter has a knob or switch with an intuitive menu accessible through the sequencer buttons for things like tempo syncing the LFO, keytracking the filter, setting velocity control of filter and/or amplitude, assigning the bender, and naming patches. The sequencer is fun to use as well. I never recorded in real time, opting instead to step sequence, which acts as you would expect if you have used other step sequencers. I think it's a little odd that Korg opted for a 100 patch limit instead of a standard 128 but that's more of an observation than a complaint. I did not find many uses for the drive as I found it too aggressive & harsh in most applications but I don't take off pints for this. The LFO is very expressive and can even go up to audio rate in the "fast" setting, allowing for analog-FM style tones when assigned to any destination. Although this synth does not have full sized keys, they are not as small as say a microKORG or many controllers. They feel pretty natural to play and I wasn't hitting extra keys while using them. I would say this is an excellent first synth for anyone attempting to learn synthesis. However, even an experienced user as myself can find uses for the sound of this synth with its pure analog signal path and excellent sounding filter.

What you're looking at is the Monologue 25-Key Monophonic Analog Synthesizer, a next-generation musical instrument that takes the spirit of the acclaimed minilogue and enhances it with a unique voice and powerful new features. This 25-key, fully programmable monophonic analog synthesizer is designed to cater to all types of musicians, offering new voicing and sound sculpting abilities.
The Monologue Synthesizer boasts an all-new synthesis structure, optimized for creating exceptional monophonic sounds and sequences. It comes with 100 program memories, 80 of which are presets, and a 16-step sequencer equipped with extensive motion sequence technology to bring your sound to life.
The synthesizer's microtuning feature allows you to create scales and alternate tonalities freely, while the oscilloscope function provides real-time visualization of the waveform. Designed for portability, the synthesizer is battery-powered and features a rugged yet stylish design with an aluminum top panel, chassis-mounted pots, rubber-coated knobs, and a real wood back panel.
The Monologue Synthesizer offers MIDI, USB MIDI, and Audio Sync for all types of in-studio and live connectivity, including direct sync with minilogue, SQ1, volca, electribe, and more. It comes in five color variations, ensuring it will shine on stage or in the studio.
This synthesizer is not just a one-voice model of the minilogue. It's a monophonic powerhouse with a redesigned envelope section, modulation routing, and a filter with a powerful low-end punch. The structure is 2VCO, 1VCF, 1EG, 1VCA, and 1LFO. The filter section uses a two-pole filter to deliver aggressive sound, and a drive circuit adds overtones and distortion, letting you generate fat basses and sharp lead sounds.
The keyboard section features the acclaimed slim keybed of the minilogue and the MS-20 mini, covering the E-E range of notes, making it a synthesizer that any musician can immediately pick up and play.
The Monologue Synthesizer goes beyond analog synths in its price range by adding 100 preset locations. It comes with built-in programs that provide 80 preset sounds and sequences made by creative artists around the world, including legendary electronic artist Aphex Twin, plus 20 user locations for saving custom sounds.
The step sequencer of the monologue has been significantly enhanced to deliver musical, complex rhythms that are easy to capture, see, and edit. It supports both real-time recording with overdubbing capability and step recording. The motion sequence function lets you record up to four knob movements to apply time-varying change to the sound.
The Monologue Synthesizer is battery-powered, compact, and lightweight, providing an unprecedented combination of toughness and portability. It also includes Audio Sync connectivity, which allows it to play in time and integrate seamlessly with KORG volcas, electribes, minilogue, and SQ-1.
Choose from five striking and vivid colors to complement or be the highlight of your setup. This bundle also includes a Gator Cases Updated Padded Nylon Mixer/Equipment Bag for safe transport and a Microfiber Cloth for easy maintenance.
