The heart of this machine is its vacuum tube oscillator circuit, which uses groundbreaking Nutube technology. This technology equips the Nutube with two vacuum tubes, one for generating a sawtooth wave or square wave, and another for the drive circuit of the sub oscillator. This unique setup produces a harmonic character that only a real vacuum tube can provide.The Volca Nubass also features a transistor ladder low-pass filter, a design found in classic analog bass synths. This filter offers a wide range of timbral possibilities, making it ideal for various genres of dance music. From the distinctive modulation of acid house to the sharp character of techno, this filter can do it all.Adding to its versatility, the Volca Nubass is equipped with an analog driver circuit that provides overdrive reminiscent of a classic stompbox. This sequencer, combined with a rhythm machine, allows you to construct rhythm tracks or loop music with ease. It also offers a chain function for playing back multiple sequence patterns in succession, a motion sequence function for recording knob movements, and an active step function for real-time editing during performances.The sequencer also provides three functions that add the slap and slide performance techniques distinctive of acid bass: transpose, accent, and slide.
