I bought a pair of Fortes in 1987. I still have them. They remain the primary speakers in my studio. No matter what I throw at them, they perform. I used them for stereo listening, yet also as studio monitors for final mixdown. This is key is the midrange brings forth the guitar parts like no other speaker. I have also used these as a PA. They have survived a flood, a fool who bridged my amp at a party and blew them clean out (Klipsch replaced all the speakers at no charge and three moves. A word of caution: once these speakers raise your ear and expectations, every other music source you hear is going to sound like crap. Such is the price of perfection. Thanks, Kilpsch!

I became infatuated with home audio at the age of 14 (1977). Over the next 40+ years I have spent a lot of money on audio gear. I built several of my own speakers then later in life when I could afford it, I purchased several high end speakers such as Legacy (focus) and Genesis (500). Recently my wife asked if we could down size from the current massive 55" speakers I had in the family room so I started shopping again. I went to a Klipsch dealer not expecting much because the Forte III "only" sell for $4000. I was blown away at the sound they produced and with such small power demands. I have had them for several weeks now and love them. My only wish is that Klipsch would do a better job on bracing of the cabinets. They seem very resonate to me coming from much more expensive speakers. But they sound great.

I was debating whether to purchase the Forte III or the RF-7. I finally purchased the Forte III and absolutely love them. I realized what I was missing in my previous speakers, the Mid-Range. Using the Bi-Amp/Bi-Wiring with a 120 Watt/channel receiver.

I use Forte iii to play my vinyl collection the way it should be heard. Love tight bass and mid range. I remember when we couldn't get enough high frequencies now the older records need to have the treble turned down a little. Would have liked a crossover adjuster on the back of the speaker but I guess that is asking for too much. Over all, the speakers are much better than I could have ever imagined. And I think, with time they will sound better once the speakers are broken in.

High Performance Is Our Forte
First introduced in 1985, the Forte quickly established itself as the most popular Klipsch model. The elegant design and outstanding performance made the Forte a standout among its competitors. In 2017, Klipsch re-introduced the Forte as part of the Heritage speaker series. High Efficiency + High Performance
The Forte III hosts a three-way design utilizing a 12" woofer and horn-loaded midrange and tweeter. The new Forte III utilizes all new state of the art drivers including midrange and tweeter titanium compression drivers for a smooth and powerful response. The Forte III's new midrange horn utilizes patented technology to improve coverage and control of the key mid-frequency band.
New Patented Midrange
The Forte III's new midrange horn utilizes patented technology to improve coverage and control of the key mid-frequency band. There's no listening experience like it on earth.
Designed And Made In The USA
Using Domestic And Imported Components
Don't mess with perfection. We've made some important upgrades to the Forte III, but it remains relatively unchanged since its inception. Remember great sound? We do, too. The Forte III enclosure is still made in the USA, by proud craftsmen in Hope, Arkansas. Just like Paul W. Klipsch (PWK) intended.
15" Passive Radiator
Yields Full Range Performance
In the back of the cabinet the Forte III has a secret. The Forte III's well-extended bass is found in the use of a rear-mounted passive radiator. A mammoth 15" (38 cm) in size, this sub-bass radiator operates on acoustic pressure generated by the woofer for greater bass output and extension.
Book-matched Wood Veneer
Klipsch only uses book-matched wood veneers for the Heritage series. The veneer leaves are kept in order as they are delicately sliced from the timber and precisely arranged to provide a mirror image at the splice joint - like turning the pages of a book. This gives each speaker a more aesthetically appealing and consistent appearance that is treasured more than any other cut of wood veneer.
Perfection At The Granular Level
Each pair of Forte III loudspeakers is grain-matched using wood veneer panels that come from the same timber. Each cabinet is carefully matched so that each speaker in the pair is practically indistinguishable from the other. The speakers move seamlessly together through the factory. Each finished product is inspected and labeled with sequential serial numbers, ensuring that each pair of speakers leave the factory as a meticulously crafted set.
Built To Last
No detail goes unnoticed. Klipsch speakers are built to rock the house and stand the test of time. The Forte III is meticulously handcrafted and assembled using the finest quality materials, even down to the highest-grade adhesives and fasteners. This is a speaker that will be handed down for generations to come.
More Depth - Less Deep
The Forte III is designed to fill large rooms with amazing sound without sacrificing too much floor space. At a mere 13" (33cm) deep, the Forte III is the thinner than any Heritage Series or Reference Premiere floor standing speaker - yet still able to deliver incredible, robust acoustics.
Finish In Style
The Forte III real-wood veneer comes in four distinct finishes including Distressed Oak, Cherry, Black Ash and Walnut - all designed to blend into your home's d cor.
