One set of headphones that always sound great!

I purchased the Klipsch HP3 Heritage headphones about 2 years ago. They were replacement headphones for my Denon 7200s that the dog destroyed. I was really mad until the HP 3s arrived and I realized what a favor my dog had done for me. One thing is the 52mm driver are made by Fostex for Klipsch and while the Hp3s have strong bass they are not the high impact bass cannons that is the Fostex signature sound. I am guessing that Klipsch and Fostex were going for a more refined version of Fostex normal classic "V" shaped sound signature. However they seem to have produced more of a "W" signature to my ears. What I mean is they have strong tight bass that is not does bleed into the lower mids (as my 7200s did.) The midrange sounds are not recessed as can be common in "V" tuned headphones. Rather they seem to have a strong natural presence. I would describe the treble as strong but not overbearing and no semblance rather they are just right. I paid so much for an equalizer but I just leave it flat now. I have 4 sets of headphones as I usually get boared with one sound signature. But the HP3s have a very fun musical sound that I rarely tire of. Normally I listen to late 60s, all 70s and some early 80s rock. I also like classical and surprisingly they produce the complex sounds of an orchestra quite well. I would say they are the best investment I have ever made in a set of headphones. I love the product but I cannot stand Klipsch customer service. I mean they are extremely bad. PS: I recent upgraded to all balanced XLR connections. The difference is amazing!

Greater headphones

25 ohms, great vibrance, sharp frequency differentiation. Smooth medium, deep bass, thin treble. Bravo.

Great

The first time I listened to them, I didn't understand them, but then I realised them. Sounds 10 out of 10. Volume, large-scale, engaging, bass is pleasing.

Great Headphones

I've owned these for about 4 years and they are special everytime I listen in them! I did a lot of comparisons but none sounded better with a headphone amp. My headphone amp is from SMSL M-500 and it's a great match with these headphones. I like the amp because it has a remote. Great purchase...if you like Klipsch speakers you will love these headphones.

Klipsch's Best, Warm and Easy to like

Absolutely amazing headphones, still baffled i got them half off.... On the warm side, with a pretty damn wide soundstage. Sounds extremely different than the typically forward Horn style speakers they sell, and the sequel to these got cancelled so hurry up and grab some before they skyrocket to premium planar prices. Very easy to drive, but will leave you desiring a bit more on some phones. 10-12W is more than youll ever need

Worst customer support - think twice before you buy Klipsch

I have no complaints about this HP-3 headphones, and that's why I bought it, but what I'm complaining are 1) the design flaw of the wooden box and 2) the customer support. 1) Design flaw: When I cut open the copper seal, the wooden box slid and dropped on the floor, cracking the corners, because the two little magnets on the sliding door don't hold weight of the wooden box. It's natural for any user would grab the wooden box by the handle, because it's designed for that purpose, but the weight of the wooden box can tilt and slide off uncontrollably and could potentially cause an injury (it's almost hitting one of my bare toes) 2) Customer support I contacted Klipsch through their support website and reported the issue. A week later, no one responds. This is over $1000 headphones, at least someone would reply back with something, but nope. So I followed up with the following message "This is a $1000+ headphone and I'm very disappointed that no one from Klipsch responds to my inquiry. I will have to email my concern directly to the management and CEO for help then", then someone by the name Liam popped up and answered a couple of messages, but then he vanished again. I can return the product back, but the store that I bought it from was so nice and they gave me a very good discount, plus the wooden box is cracked and it's not fair to return, so I contacted Klipsch here. I will make a Youtube video to show exactly the design flaw and my conversation with Klipsch on their support site. Thank you Klipsch, that's the only product from Klipsch I will ever own!
