I've had this for a little while now and am very impressed. I don't like scanning uncut rolls and prefer cut strips. The FilmCopy seems lot easier to work with cut strips than other products such as the Essential Film Holder, Negative Supply carrier and the Valoi carrier in my opinion. I've bought the 24x36, 6x4.5, 6x6 & 6x7 masks as well. The 6x7 mask I opted for the Anti-Newton glass but it's backordered for now. I'm hoping using the glass inserts (without the mask) that I'll be able to get a single 6x4.5 negative and "scan" the entire negative's film borders. I think 6x7 is the largest mask there is and then after that they suggest using glass. I've read that 6x9 is actually cropped on the FilmCopy holder (not big enough) and that 6x8 is actually the max. I read this on a German review of the FilmCopy. Haven't tried it myself though. The film stays super flat and it's very quick to move to the next negative. The guided rails and the weight of the product mean that the the images line up perfectly straight every time after initially getting the first one right. The Slimline Plano that comes with the FilmCopy is also very good. It's not as bright as some other panels around but it's very diffused and has a high CRI of 95. The colours seems fine after processing the negatives through Negative Lab Pro. I'm getting shutter speeds around 1/3 or 1/4 of a second at F/11 using ISO 100. I thought these slower speeds may be an issue but it's not problem at all. I use a copy stand and mirror lockup and I've never had any problems after scanning around 10 rolls. The only thing I'd say that's close to a negative is I wish they would leave more room for the orange mask of the negative to show but it's no real big deal. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone whose looking to "scan" cut strips and doesn't want the hassle of a carrier with an advancer. Also, Adorama's service is amazing. Answered all my questions via email super quickly and accurately. Shipping to Hong Kong was really fast as well.
