Shopper : is the Kaiser 206075 Folding LCD Hood for 3" Screen (Black) compatible with Sony dsc h300 ?THOMAS T : Although I'm not familiar with the h300, it is compatible with the Sony DSC-HX9V in case that's of any help.GAIL F : I use it on Samsung NX300 which has a 3.3 inch tilt screen. I loose a little bit of the edges of the screen. Mostly the shooting information that is on the sides of my screen. The tilt on the viewing screen doesn't work with the hood on but then with the sun shielded you really don't need to tilt it as often. It folds up nicely out of the way too.
Shopper : Will this fit a Sony NEX-5R? Does it allow the screen to be tilted while shade is in Place?THOMAS T : It screws into the bottom of the camera where a tripod would. I do not see how the screen could be tilted while the shade is in place.
PATRICK P : Will this fit a Nikon D5100 and D90 ? ThanksGREGORY R : I don't know if it will fit a D5100 or D90. I only use it on a Olympus Pen EP-1.RANELLA P : I am not familiar with Nikon cameras. I am using this on a Sony Cybershot DSC-H20.

Protects the view screen when closed. Does very little to cut glare when open.

I bought the screen primarily to protect the view screen from scratches when the camera was not in use. It does that very well. I had hoped it would serve its primary function - shading glare - but it does that very poorly.

Still can't see the LCD

Very cheap construction. Does not fit tightly against the LCD; nor does it stay put in normal use. All of that I would consider only mild drawbacks and -given the price of this item- not deal breakers if the device accomplished its primary purpose. Unfortunately, I find only slight improvement when trying to view the screen on my Pentax K-01 and not really worth the bother. My camera is IR modified, so maybe that makes a difference, but this hasn't been the solution I was looking for.

a little awkward to use, but works well when you ned it

The hood works well at shielding the screen, witch is important with the Olympus OM D Mark II. But while it is not hard to install and un-install, it is a bit awkward to do so. Additionally, I have found the best way to mount it on the camera is via the tripod socket, but that make the camera a little unstable when it is then placed on the tripod. It's not hard to fix the problem, but, as I have noted, it makes using the hood a little awkward.

About Kaiser DigiShield, LCD Screen Glare Shield; For Digital Compacts with 3.0" LCD's

Kaiser Fototechnik has further developed its flexible digiShield glare shield for digital camera LCDs with a model for the 3" LCDs that are more popular today. Kaiser did not just settle for adding a larger version to the existing ones, but has also taken into account that touch screenLCDs should be easy to access.

The digiShield glare shield fits most of the standard digital cameras with 3" LCDs. It is mounted via an adapter plate to the camera's tripod thread - no glue or rubber bands to disfigure the camera body. For proper positioning the glare shield can be moved along guide rails on the adapter plate.

Three different adapters are supplied with the glare shield thus making sure that it mounts to almost any digital compact.

The Kaiser digiShield shields against lateral and angular light rays using two side shields and a top shield. To store the unit mounted on the camera, theysimply fold down flat and serve to protect the LCD screen without adding too much bulk. Two safety catches hold the shields in this position and a coil spring support moves them to the opened position when unlocked.

More and more camera settings are operated on a touch screen, especially on larger LCDs, that take up a large portion of the space on the camera's back. Using a touch screen with a digiShield mounted to camera would be rather difficult.

The designers found a clever solution for this problem: the complete glare shield flips up by releasing a lock rail, no matter if it is open or folded down. Now the touch screen can be easily accessed by left and right handers. Once the settings are complete the glare shield can be repositioned and locks inits' initial place.
