The Kramer Electronics FC-113 HDMI to 3G/HD-SDI Format Converter is a high-performance device that converts a single HDMI input signal to two identical SDI video with embedded audio output signals. (The FC-113 does not perform frame rate or resolution conversion.) Part of Kramer Electronics' DigiTOOLS line, the compact FC-113 fits into a third of a single rack unit on a standard 19" rack, which means that three similar-sized devices can be installed side-by-side using the optional RK-3T adapter (not included).
The maximum data rate of the FC-113 is 3 Gb/s, which means it can perform single-cable 3G-SDI (SMPTE 424M) output on both BNC connectors. The device can also handle SDI (SMPTE 259M) and HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M) on both outputs. The FC-113 can be used to connect any AV source with an HDMI output - such as a camera, a set-top box, a DVD player, or an LCD or plasma TV - to any display, nonlinear editing system, or switcher with an SDI input.
By accepting HDMI the converter supports NTSC, PAL and high-definition video formats such as 720p, 1080i and 1080p/60. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports 8-channel digital audio, with spare bandwidth to accommodate future enhancements and requirements. Two LED indicators denote the input signal type. The SD/HD LED illuminates green to indicate standard definition and blue to indicate high definition. The IN LED illuminates green to indicate an HDMI signal and it flashes red to indicate HDCP is present on the HDMI signal.
