Column of dull-black anodized aluminum tubing with cm & inch scales. Rack-&-pinion height adjustment is by hand crank, and it includes a mount and fastening device for copy arms. It is Wide and vibration-resistant.

It has a locking screw for fixing the height position and it has a built-in scroll spring type counter balance. There is also a fine drive with 1:10 step-down transmission for very-fine adjustments.
