The VP-551X not only scales video but also offers the flexibility to use the embedded HDMI audio or select the companion audio channel from one of ten analog audio input signals. After processing and scaling, the AV signal is simultaneously sent to the HDMI and the HDBaseT outputs. The audio is also dispatched to a balanced stereo audio output, S/PDIF digital output, and a pair of loudspeakers, providing a comprehensive audio-visual solution.

This high-resolution device supports and scales to/from resolutions up to 4K@60Hz (4:4:4) on the HDMI inputs and output, and 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) on the HDBaseT output. It complies with HDCP 2.2 and supports HDR10, CEC, xvYCC color (on input), Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD Master Audio (by-pass), as specified in HDMI 2.0.

The VP-551X offers professional video quality with selectable aspect ratios and includes a built-in ProcAmp for color, hue, sharpness, noise, contrast, and brightness control. It supports Kramer's PixPerfect, a precision pixel mapping and high-quality scaling technology, and provides high-quality 3:2 and 2:2 pull-down de-interlacing and full up-scaling and down-scaling of all video input signals.

The device also offers versatile audio options, including a companion analog audio input for each of the 10 video inputs. It provides two independent microphone inputs on 6.3mm connectors, each with optional 48V phantom power, for mixing, switching, or talk-over. The audio signal is also extracted and output as balanced stereo analog audio, and as digital audio through an S/PDIF connected device, as well as amplified to 20W per channel for connection to loudspeakers.

The VP-551X is equipped with powerful audio features, including a DSP with audio equalization, mixing, delay, and more. It receives power from a universal power supply (100-240V AC) and provides PoE power to a compatible HDBaseT device. The unit also features 8 4K@60 (4:4:4) HDMI inputs, 1 VGA input, and 1 CV (composite video) input.

The device's non-volatile memory saves final settings before shutdown and retains them for the next power up. It offers convenient control options, including local control via front panel buttons, RS-232, IR remote, and OSD, and long-distance control via Ethernet using embedded web pages. The VP-551X is easy to install, with a 19" enclosure for rack mounting in a 1U rack space with included rack ears and a universal 100-240V AC power connection.
