I was looking for shock mount system for my boom pole setup that was compact but effective. This K-Tek K-Mount Universal Microphone Shock Mount is definitely compact. At first glance I thought almost too small. I am using it with the Senheiser MKE-600 shotgun microphone and I will say its a tight fit but I knew this when I purchased based on the reviews I read. So I did have to use a little hand lotion on the o-rings in order for the mic to fit. Once the lotion dried the mic fits firmly in place. Be sure to check the diameter of your mic, this could be more of an issue for some mics. I have already used it for a couple interviews and it works good. I do like the locking latch, its secure and makes it easy to adjust the angle. My one complaint is, for the price I feel like it should have come with some sort of cable clip for the XLR cable but other than that so far so good.

K-Tek just does it right. They hold the mics securely, weight is almost nominal and quality of build is always excellent.
