I have been buying these runaway stands for my C-Stands for a couple of years now.  I don't even use my traditional turtle bases anymore.  I now own 6 of these.  Excellent design and construction.  They are very smooth when rolling and easy collapsing them for transport.  It's really nice not having to lift up a C-stand with sandbags on it to move it.  I can just leave the bags there and roll them where I need them. Then roll them to the next setup in "run and gun" situations.  Very sturdy and stable and speeds everything up.  Easy for the client to push them too.  Definitely recommend them for your C-stands.

Excellent Wheels for C-Stands... Solid build.

I?ve been using the Runaway base with one of my turtle base C-Stands to change shots quickly in industrial and manufacturing facilities all month long.

Paired with the Forza 500 which puts out a ton of output (but has a ballast that has to be clamped to the light stand) this makes it a lot easier to keep a big light setup and move from setup to setup FAST.

If anything I want to order two more.

Initially I purchased this because the flashpoint version was not in stock. This a  beautiful piece of equipment especially if you prefer not to lift c stands

Kupo wheel base

I use this to support a C-stand column which sometimes is used to support an Avenger Mini-boom and light. One of the metal legs started deforming around where the wheel attaches after a few months. It is obviously going to completely fail sooner or later. If you are are looking for a Runway type base spend the money and get the much heavier duty, better made (and much more expensive) Matthews Studio Equipment  version

Only suitable for light loads.

Okay photographers, when you're getting older and can't move a heavy C stand with lights and modifiers, this is the way to go! It rolls around like butter! The brakes are perfect! I highly recommend this. Hopefully I'll be able to get 2 more in the future.

Why didn't I get this before?

5 STAR QUALITY, FIT , AND FINISH, EASY ROLLING ACROSS CARPETING. THE BASES ARE LIGHT IN WEIGHT AND EASY TO HANDLE THROUGH DOORS. BECAUSE OF THE SMALL FOOT PRINT, THE USER WILL NEED TO BE AWARE OF THE HEIGHT AND WHAT IS MOUNTED TO THE RISER TO AVOID TIPPING,

KUPO ROLLING RUNWAY BASE

Love this runway base stand. I use them with Kupo risers and my Buff strip boxes. I can easily move them in any direction to refine my lighting.

Kupo runway base stand

The runway stand base is nicely constructed with good wheels and brakes.  Works best on hard floors but will work on rugs as well, just needs a little assistance at the base when pushing.  This item is pretty heavy duty and collapses to a fairly small package when transporting.

Excellent quality, good price, but I was VERY disappointed that the risers from my Flashpoint C-stands are too big to fit into these bases. I first bought a runway base with a 20" Kupo riser to use as a tether table. I was so impressed with the runway base that I bought a second, thinking I would be able to mix and match turtle bases and these runway bases with my Flashpoing C-stands, but that is not to be. Now I'll have to buy another Kupo riser (whenever they are in stock again).

Great rolling base, but doesn't fit Flashpoint risers

Though this rolling base stand has a small wheel base/footprint. The locks are solid, and the build quality is superb. The casters are insanely smooth. I'm not going to use this on irregular surfaces though, as the soft smooth casters may warp. Overall excellent quality and I plan to buy another.

Solid construction and quality materials. The wheels move smoothly over my wood floors and is stable with my c-stand.

Rolling base for c-stand

Great addition in the studio.  I can use it to mount lights low using an adapter or I can use a 40" riser.  Best of all worlds plus it fold up for transport or storage.

Great in the studio!

This will convert a C stand into a roller stand.  So for that purpose - fabulous. It will be how I mount mount fill lights. Beats picking up and moving a loaded C stand indoors. It will work with any standard C stand riser. Kupo claims it will bear 150 lbs or something like that...it does feel very sturdy and rigid. I had a Profoto D1 and a 5 ft Octa on it and it rolled around straight and true. 

It can mount a mini boom - but I would be super careful about sandbagging the legs. It would not be my first choice in a boom stand because it has just a 30 inch leg spread and it weights only 10lbs... so any kind of boom extension tips it over ..it can handle the load - not the geometry. Even with a steel riser it is not heavy enough to stabilize a junior boom or anything bigger.

Makes a medium duty studio roller obsolete if you are already carrying C stands
