Combining the versatility and convenience of a digital keyboard and the elegant aesthetics of an acoustic upright piano, the CE220 by Kawai offers high-quality sound and exceptional functionality for both practice sessions and live performances. It incorporates the brand’s Progressive Harmonic Sound Technology and 88-key sampling for more realistic piano sounds while the graded-hammer keyboard action with counterbalancing offers an authentic key feel and response. The CE220 has three keyboard modes (Split, Dual, and Four Hands) and several touch options, plus it offers all kinds of musical effects and modes to help you create intricate melodies. It has 22 voices (including classic e. piano, concert grand, church organ, harpsichord, and more) and five effects options—delay, chorus, tremolo, rotary one, and rotary two. There are also five reverbs to help simulate the acoustics of certain types of rooms or spaces. The Kawai CE220 piano also features three pedals with half-damper to emulate an authentic grand piano, MIDI and USB ports for connectivity, and a matching keyboard cover and bench.
Kawai CE220... The Finest Tone, Touch and Value
Featuring our famous wooden-key action, the CE220 digital piano offers the finest touch available in a digital piano. With 88-key piano sampling, plus a rugged, yet beautiful cabinet, the CE220 is a great choice in a high-quality digital piano.
Tone
The CE220 utilizes Kawai's acclaimed Progressive Harmonic Imaging Sound Technology to create a very realistic, impressive piano sound. 88-key piano sampling preserves the individual tonal character of each note.
Touch
The CE220 offers the finest touch available thanks to the AWA PROII wooden-key, graded-hammer action with counterbalancing.
Keyboard Modes
The CE220 has both a Dual Mode, in which two sounds are played at the same time and a Split mode, in which one sound plays on the left side of the keyboard and another sound plays on the right side. A special 4-Hands Mode creates two identical 44-note pianos on the keyboard - great for piano lessons or for duets. A convenient Balance Slider on the panel controls the volume balance in a Dual or Split keyboard mode.
Metronome
The handy built-in digital metronome comes with a variety of time signatures and is a perfect practice partner. You can adjust both the tempo and the volume of the metronome. The metronome also features 100 built-in drum rhythms in a variety of musical styles. Tempo and volume of the drum beats can also be controlled.
Recorder
The CE220 offers an easy to use 2-Track / 3-Song recorder, perfect for self-evaluation of your keyboard performances or for capturing a moment of inspiration.
Piano Music
29 Classical Piano Songs are stored in the CE220's internal memory. An accompanying music book is also provided.
Pedals
The CE220 offers three pedals - soft, sostenuto and damper (with half-damper capability) - just like our grand pianos.
Jacks and Connections
Both the MIDI jacks and a second USB jack are useful for connecting with other musical instruments and computers. Line In jacks allow an external audio device, such as an MP3 player, to be heard through the instrument's speaker system. Line Out jacks let you play through an external sound system or to make a digital audio recording with an external recorder or computer.
