The DM-100 was purchased and cannot be used.  The picture shown on the Canon website for the DM-100 shows a microphone with a cord, that is the DM-E100.  The DM-100 has only a hot shoe and it is not compatible with the camcorder that I had purchased.  It is too late to send back as Canon has only a 14 day return policy.  Very disappointing and misleading by Canon!

First let me say I am a novice in the video area. But the price was right, it came with the wind screen and it did remove about 50% of the background noise from the Canon G20s microphone. Its light weight almost to the point im wooried about breaking it off the cameras hotshoe mount only because I use it while hunting. But overall im happy with it.

It was a great piece, however I bought it thinking it would fit my canon Reble t6. It does not.

Good but not what I needed

I use it during travels and performances where I am at a distance from the action. I am looking forward to recording my trip to the Edinburgh Royal Tattoo in August!

Best service and Product AMAZED

We got this to match with a Vixia HF G20 and it has worked out perfectly.  The outfit is used on professional video shoots (it was recommended to us by a well known director and DP as having been used on their work and having been excellent...think NCIS and Supernatural) and has been outstanding, with this mic it exceeds our expectations.

This microphone gave better quality sound than the built in mic alone.  
When the 'muffler' cloth was used it cut down on wind noise.
