Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?Sam G : Switching my studio to Dante, to replace un-expandable interfaces that do not aggregate with Mac. I run Logic/Ableton, and turn out at least 100 projects a year, and was looking to upgrade the flexibility of my studio. I looked at Apollo, and it was going to cost me 12K to support 64-96 inputs. I have about 56 inputs for synths. With Dante I can get 128 inputs, and this will be used for tracking instruments around the studio space, rather than having to run headphone cables all over the place.

Excellent Headphone Amp from Focusrite

Excellent Headphone amp for monitoring or referencing up to 96kHz. With PoE I hook up to switch and I can use on location or just keep in studio for having ready to just throw headphones on and play. Very sturdy and nice design.

Dependable and Convenient

When I saw RedNet and Dante, I knew it was the future, and that I would go down that path. The AM2 and RedNet 3 combination have been better than the replaced usb interface. I did need to get a Netgear GS516TP switch, PoE works great, and setup the DSCP queues, and the latency is non-issue. Using the DVC card, license comes with AM2 as well. Well thought out design, and perfect for what I needed. Eliminated man cables, replaced a separate headphone amp. If you want the 2 channel input, go for the X2P. If you just need a headphone amp, or monitor controller, this is the ticket. Planning to buy a couple more, and place them around the studio, so long headphone extension cords, etc.
