Image is everything
Your first step in choosing the right drone camera is to know how you’ll use it. Do you need a top-of-the-line 50MP camera to photograph aerial maps and topography? Or will a 10MP suit the adventure you’ve got planned? Drone cameras are outfitted with a range of resolution options, from 2MP to 50MP, and each entry is suited to different tasks.
Sensors play a major role for image clarity
For the best performance, factor in the size of your sensor, which is an integral factor in image quality. If it’s small, you’ll need a longer exposure to achieve a clear image. Also, remember that keeping a drone still is no easy feat. Sensors vary from ?“ to 1”, Micro 4/3rds, APS-C, and Full Frame.
The importance of focal length
Drone cameras vary in focal length from 10mm to 1200mm. You should note that the longer the focal length, the lower the resolution. Keep this in mind if you’re buying a drone to capture high quality images for professional purposes like surveying and inspections.
