Turntable

Brilliant record player for the money. Can't go wrong in price segment. Plays flawlessly and easy to setup. Sound is great combined with a good phono stage/av. Lots of value for money.

Very good for the price.

Recently purchased (2024Mar20) and while setup was pretty easy itself, there were some issues I did not expect.
Issue one, the speed was set incorrect for the 33 1/3. Had to puzzle out if this could be fixed (it can), and then gather up the tools to do so.
Issue two, the tone arm does not seem to lift high enough to properly use the Automatic functions for Starting and Stopping. And there does not seem to be a solution for this issue.
When starting automatically, it basically drops the needle into the side of the vinyl and sometimes pulls itself up onto the top. Does not sound good, cannot imagine it is good for the needle itself. When reaching the run out groove, it returns, but lifts just high enough to drag the needle all the way across the vinyl to the tone arm rest. Not good.

Good Sound, Some Issues Out of the Box

My turntable arrived without accessories--belt, counterweight, cartridge--and customer service said they would send the parts but now sent another email saying they'll let me know if they will.  I have asked for a manager to contact me via reviews, your customer portal but so far nothing.  And my previous review was removed....I am struggling to understand how to get through to Denon.

No accessories and no resolution

My turntable arrived with any accessories, no cartridge, no belt and none the hinges and smaller items.  I am unable to get through to customer service so writing in hopes of getting some resolution. Additionally, the 150 sounds like crap...bass is completely fuzzy...I am very worried of what I will or won't find with the receiver.  So far...not good.

No Accessories

The Denon DP300F has been around a while and deservedly so. Good full-auto ?tables for less than $500 are rare, and this would certainly seem to be a good one. Initial set-up was quick and painless, and I was spinning vinyl in just a few minutes. Arm action is smooth and quiet.  Sound quality is quite good, all things considered, and can always be improved with an upgraded stylus or cartridge.  No complaints here!

A Value In Performanec and Convenience

Excellent turntable for the money. Striking looks, automatic works great, and it sounds wonderful. Straightforward setup. Very impressed.

Excellent turntable

I replaced an old Sony table with this model a year and a half ago and using the same Ortofon bronze this turntable sounds significantly better, very simple setup and the automatic mechanism is flawless can't beat this table for the price

Great turntable for the price

The "overall dimensions" say this is only 13.8 inches deep, but they are wrong. Even with the lid and hinges removed, it is a full 15.0 inches from the back of the hinge brackets to the front of the start/stop buttons. I measured my cabinet before purchasing and thought I was clear with a 14.5 inch capacity, but no, I had to cut holes in the back of my hi-fi cabinet to accommodate the hinge brackets before it would fit.

The dimensions in the specifications are wrong

I have always been a vinyl junkie, always. Last Christmas (2021), I decide to replace the main turntable in my home theater set up. I was using Gramavox's "Floating Record" vertical turntable at the time, mainly for it's visual appeal and "wow factor". While it is a great turntable in many ways, it also has several drawbacks including being a 100% manual turntable, and it is a very delicate & fragile unit with horrible skating issues and a heavy tracking force. I started off in the <$200 range and purchased a unit by a new company called "Angel Horn" for about $150. It was gorgeous to look at but had horrible motor issues resulting in unstable turntable speeds that would fluctuate WILDLY during a record playback. After returning 2 units for the same issue I figured I should probably up my budget to get a record player of better quality. That is when I found my Denon DP-300F, with a reduced price for the holidays, so I bought it. Right out of the box, I was impressed with its rich, polished appearance and obvious high quality construction. It is a thing of beauty! The set up was very standard, so quite easy, and it was ready for a test spin after about 10 minutes. The automatic features are silent, smooth and swift with incredible accuracy. The sound reproduction is a strong point here too with a solid built in preamp and decent cartridge/stylus included to get you started. I have been using this almost daily since then (about 8 months now) and I am still in awe of my new "toy". Even though I would certainly recommend this one to a friend ( I already have, actually), and would buy it again if I had to replace it, there are two small issues I have with it that I want to share . First, the included cartridge & stylus, while certainly useable, should really be upgraded to something a bit better. Mine had some real trouble handling some music fade outs at the end of a song. Often the sound would drop out on a channel then return & drop out on the other channel just to come back & drop out all together in the middle of a fade. I double & triple checked the tracking force, and anti-skate setting before giving up & replacing it with an Ortofon 2M Red. That problem was solved. Second, while the rotating speeds are EXTREMELY stable on both 45 & 33 1/3, it spins just slightly faster than it should, usually around 46-46.5 rpm & 34-34.2 rpm. While nothing major, it is slightly noticeable and should be just a bit more accurate. All in all, I truly enjoy my turntable and I look forward to many years of use from it.

The best automatic turntable for the price!

I have one and find it to be a steady, great sounding turntable.  I play mine through a Rotel A12 amp to a pair of Klipsch RP-600M speakers.  I like most music genres but listen to classic rock mostly.  I did install an older AT90E cartridge with a nude eliptical stylus.  I had purchased a new Debut Carbon EVO but the Denon/AT90E combination sounded better to my ears.

I?ve only had the TT for a week and I love it. No complaints nice turntable!!? Sounds great  glad I bought it!

Dope turntable

I am perfectly happy with my dp-300f. It does what I purchased it for, listening to used vinyl, I am rebuilding a lost collection. I do have a question, how long does the stock stylus last and how do I know if it needs to be replaced. I am loath to spend the price of the turntable on a replacement stylus. Are there decent ones out there for under $100?

Stylus replacement?

Cheaply made.  Start/Stop buttons cheap.   My old DP-37F was much better, was less money and was direct drive

Pretty cheap for the money

Got this as a birthday gift for my partner. L don?t know much about audio quality, however lots of review time and recommendations from friends lead me to this beauty. Needless to say, I?m happy to have the sleek player out on display in our home, and the sound-play quality is much better than our last turntable.

Great gift for a Vinyl enthusiast

I think It's A great turntable. I'm 65 disabled, music and collecting audio components is my hobby along with repairing them when they break. I have A feeling I won't be working on this anytime soon. I read some reviews and watched some unboxing on the tube and the ones that had less then a good to great review I don't agree with. The very best thing is falling asleep on a day dreaming day and not worrying about the turntable shutting off.

peace of mind

After having gone through a few turntables under $200, I decided to try the Denon DP-300F.  The finish is very nice as well as the rubber vibration dampening feet.  The cartridge it comes with is fairly basic.  I use a Grado Prestige Blue cartridge and it works very well.  The automatic feature was important as well as overall construction that didn't feel cheap.  The chassis is solid and sturdy and the aluminum platter is fairly average.  It does come with a thick rubber slipmat, but I replaced it with a cork one.  I also use the preamp that is built in and it is adequate for the price point.  Overall, I'm happy with the purchase!

A Fine Turntable

Record Player

I pretty much had the same problem as Tvandivo and mine broke down at 2years/2months.  Okay, a line has to be drawn somewhere, but their customer support department was horrible and gave me the runaround for months.  Maybe I was naive, but I expected this TT to last many, many years with a periodic stylus change.  There's great ones out there for around the same money.  Look elsewhere.

I got this turntable 3 years ago and use it a lot. It is plugged into a Denon F109 micro-chain. The sound is perfect, the design very sleek (grey version, easy to plug and install in a few minutes. I don't have any experience with external pre-amps but the one integrated in the turntable sounds very good to me. I recommend Denon.

Fantastic turntable

I was very happy with my DP 300F until a couple of months ago. After 2 to 3 years the tone arm started dropping the needle about a 1/2" in from the edge of the record. I read the FA questions and there are others that have the same problem. It suggested calling customer service. I called and was on hold for 45 minutes. I couldn't hols any longer.

Great Price

It is a decent turntable, my major grip is no turn arm lock. How hard was it to make a simple device to secure the tone arm? Denon dropped the ball with that.

Shaking my head

Great product but wait for a sale.  $ on almost every other site.  Also, I'm not an audio expert so maybe there's a reason for this but I wish the built in RCA cables were longer. I had to purchase a female/female adapter to extend.

Great entry level turntable

Unfortunately, what I thought was a great deal on a turntable wasn't. After just under a year, and not much play the turntable plays records with audible variations in speed. I have had great experience with Denon products before, but this makes me not want to go there again.

Speed issues

Purchased this model early in 2016 and have used it regularly since that time. About a year ago the belt drive started malfunctioning periodically (needle placed over start position with no movement). Today the pre-amp gave out. Contacted Denon who told me the warranty was for 2 years (I am at 2.5). Denon apparently makes a product that you will enjoy for months to come. Buyer beware.

Look elsewhere

Now on my 7th DP-300 F since 2009. Great product for cost & performance at the price point. Downsides have been known issues with RCA cables, original cartridges, & even the built-in phono pre-amp. HOPE ONE HAS A WARRANTY when something goes wrong as Denon recommends replacement only of entire unit ! I have had 2 go out due to short-out in the built-in RCA cable (s), 2 for the built-in phono pre-amp failure, & 1 for a bad cartridge (NOT COVERED under ANY warranty even if new). If a new cartridge is needed Denon original is a good starter, or, like me, I upgraded to a Ortofon 2M Red then a 2M Blue. Although pricier, one gets much improved staging & overall better audio.  Overall, I still recommend Denon for its reputation & ease of use. When this 'table needs replacing I will look at Denon again. The DP-400 is coming !

Great 'table for cost & performance

So I decided to purchase this product based on other reviews as well as the auto start auto stop features. The automatic start stop was 95% of why I bought the Denon dp300f. Then it stops working ... It fights you to start a record and it will touch the record and stop even if you try to do it manually it will take 5 minutes of fighting the player to hear your record. 

Just buy something else the main features of this turn table will end up malfunctioning and you'll be angry every time you try to start a record.

Disappointing

I really like the fully automatic feature, and it sounds great. Too bad the stylus broke prematurely, not just on mine, but on my Son's also. I think Denon might have an issue with faulty stylus's on this model. And they don't cover them under warranty.
