I really like this clip and it will be nice to be able to swap it and not dig out the wrench, which I will then lose - again. I wish I knew why it took 20 days to get it. Man, the shipping was so messed up and had to be reordered and then came to my Post Office and then was shipped to a Post office 20 miles away. It finally came though and it appears to be exactly as described and really nicely designed.

I recently did a location scouting shoot around the island of Oahu and, in a hurry while changing camera bags, forgot to pack my wrench. And of course, this was when my plate on my camera decided to go loosey-goosey. Fortunately, everything turned out ok, but I ordered 4 of these bad boys immediately. Now, when I say "I have a screw loose," I'm not referring to my gear.

This field plate is so easy to use and easily leapfrogs the older hex wrench model. It is light, strong, and easy to use. Plus, it works with all the other Peak accessories. A must buy!

It's a great little plate. Just picked it up for the PDNY store. It's very costly though. Tariffs??? Going forward this should be the only plate used in the capture clips and tripods. No more allen wrenches. And if you need one I have over 15 from all the Peak Design gear I've purchased since the companies inception. The one other big ask is if PD could either include it with the pro tripod Kickstarter participants or at the very least heavily discounted. The only negative about this plate is that you cannot shift it to the side like the standard plate. Take a look at the photo. It's on my Sony A7rV

What a great idea, I don't have to carry around a separate tool to remove my tripod mount, it's built right in, easy to use and sturdy without adding more weight.

The field plate is cleverly designed and beautifully machined to enable ready attachment and removal of the mount for a tripod. It is somewhat dear, but simplifies and expedites the use of a tripod. A split disk on the bottom folds upwards when pressed to enable a two-finger twist of the screw. It avoids having your camera rocking on its baseplate every time you put it down on a flat surface (instead of carrying an allen wrench around).

So far so good. Just got it out of the box and put it on my camera. First thing I saw was on the box where there are 3 red checkmarks on the packaging and the red X for this doesn't work with the previous capture clips. The red in my mind transfers the same NOPE to the checkmarks that are saying it is good for all camera. Suggest you change the color to green for the checkmarks too.

Small plate, but so practical for everyday using with my tripod or capture. Little -, you can't change the position of plate.

Couldn't figure out how to pop up the thumb screw tab. Unit comes with no instructions. Finally by accident realized it is designed to push in on the side of the tab that has the depressed mark, then pops right open. Afterward realized the outside of the box has a picture attempting to show this, but it's not obvious, and no instructions included. Once I figured it out, now it seems a great device, but would have been much clearer had there been some instructions. Also, maybe a bit too picky, but the packaging is very impressive, like Apple computer products. But I could not figure out how to open the package without destroying the package, in the case that I would have to return it. The same packaging issue I had with the camera clip, seemed impossible to open without destroying the package.

Way better than the original quick release plate. It was anooying to carry around hex tools and loose them, and this fixes that issue

Cool plate for everyday using
By Petr
Small plate, but so practical for everyday using with my tripod or capture. Little -, you can't change the position of plate.
Forget hex tools, pocket change, and flimsy D-rings: Field Plate is a new type of quick-connecting tripod plate that comes on and off faster and easier than any other, no tools required. It's all thanks to a brilliant, first-of-its-kind connection screw mechanism that pops up with the press of a button, and provides an ergonomic thumb-drive handle with more surface area for more secure camera attachment and lightning-fast removal.
Whether you're removing tripod plates multiple times in a shoot, or doing it once every 6 months, Field Plate ensures you'll never have to waste another second digging for your hex tool. CNC-machined and anodized aluminum construction.
Compatible with all Peak Design tripods and most 3rd party ARCA-compatible tripod heads. Also compatible with Capture Camera Clip V3. Contains 4 Anchor loops for use with Peak Design camera straps.
Note: Field Plate's connection screw is in a fixed position and does not have a sliding slot for plate repositioning.
