The Joy is in The Journey

When photographing with the Hasselblad 907X, the joy is in the journey. Adorama delivered the camera on time, brand new, and sealed in a box. Setting up the camera is easy with Bernard's guidance at Hasselblad customer support. The build on it is exceptional, smaller than other medium-format cameras, and has a substantial feel to it. The Hasselblad cameras have a unique feature to shoot and view images at waist level, which is less invasive. I'm not a paid sponsor, so I'll tell you like it is. The color rendition on the Hasselblad 907X is the most accurate I've seen to date in my 50 years being a photographer. This is not an action camera like for events. This is more for doing fine art, however, I was able to hook up my Pocket Wizards and the Godox Lux Senior flash, which produces stunning results even with movement.

907X 50C...A Well Engineered Camera System!

I am impressed with 907X! I ordered it with the XCD 45P lens, the control grip and an extra battery. I took the time to study the on-line manual along with using the camera. It has paid off in helping me use the system for what it is designed for... A slower, more deliberate approach to photographing life around me. If you are interested in purchasing this camera, I recommend buying the 45P lens, the control grip and an extra battery. This is a great starter set. I find the lens quite sharp and easy to use. The control grip really helps speed up changing camera settings when walking around. And you will need the extra battery....battery life is shorter than what I am used to in other camera systems.

Hasselblad 907x 50c

This is a quality camera in the tradition of Hasselblad. I am still learning the operation of it, but everything I have seen so far indicates that Hasselblad put a lot of thought into the design. Excellent camera

Small pothole

Can't really say that I used it. The battery wouldn't charge completely and it went back to Hasselblad for a checkup. Had a couple of days to look at it. Everybody was courteous and very helpful toward my problem.

Hasselblad 907x - great but not expectational.

If you're a Hasselblad fan, and have older versions of medium format camera bodies laying around then this is a great camera. Grip helps a lot. I only have two major cons: 1) no exposure lock, not even with the grip! 2) shooting vertically is cumbersome when you have to use the screen. It should articulate on another axis.

Hasselblad 907x

Camera is a masterpiece. It may not be for everyone but it works well as a studio camera and is small enough to work for street photography as well.

Stunning and so much fun

I can't recommend this camera enough. It is an absolute joy and just the best camera I've ever used. If you're looking to jump into the medium format game, this is the camera to buy. It's a gorgeous looking camera with even more gorgeous results. My friends, family, and colleagues have all remarked on the photos it produces. There have been a lot of "wows" lately. After having the camera since October of last year, here are some important takeaways that everyone should know before buying: (1) the screen brightness is great. There are a few times in direct sunlight where it can become hard to see, but for the most part it's fine; (2) the autofocus is pretty slow. Coming from years of being a Canon user, it's hard to get used to it. I rarely use the camera's autofocus and have switched to manual, as I find it faster and more accurate to get sharp focus; (3) Some have complained about it, but I haven't had any issues with the blackout period between photos. It's not your sports camera, but I can still take a picture of a hawk flying off a tree with brilliant results; (4) the user menu is the best in the world. It makes my Canon 5d look like it's a 1960s computer; (5) It's not weather-sealed so you have to be mindful of the locations you are shooting in. If you need weather-sealing, grab the X1D II; (6) for portrait photography it can get a little clunky rotating the body. You can still do it, but I'd consider the grip handle if you often take portraits; (7) It's the best camera ever.

Screen hard to see

In bright conditions (white sandy beaches or snow) you can't see the screen, a dark focusing hood cloth is needed under these circumstances. Great studio camera.

Gorgeous

This brings back so much of the joy of shooting medium format. I love this camera. I only wish it worked with H series lenses directly so the autofocus would work.

Renewed a spark in my personal photography

Absolutely love this camera. I have it adapted with a Nikon 58mm f/1.2 lens and it achieves a stunning medium format look.

Hasselblad 907X

Hasselblad 907X.

Hasselblad's history began as a provocative challenge to produce a better camera. In 1941, Hasselblad did just that, releasing its first camera, the HK-7. From then on, Hasselblad continued to reimagine camera technology and break photographic norms. Hasselblad cameras have been trusted by photographers for 80 years, capturing countless iconic moments and touching stories. Now more than ever, Hasselblad is driven by its founding aspirations to innovate on the camera and exemplify quality craftsmanship.

In 2021, we commemorate these 80 years of Hasselblad legacy with 800 limited-edition 907X Anniversary Edition Kits. This kit draws inspiration from the iconic SWC camera and features an anodized Lunar Gray trim and lens and a black leatherette cover. By casting this classic in a new light, Hasselblad celebrates a remarkable journey and a continued spirit of innovation.

Past, Present & Future.

Over the past eight decades, Hasselblad has strived for uncompromised image quality, even if that means breaking industry conventions. Hasselblad pioneered the very first medium format mirrorless digital camera, innovated on modular design, and iconized waist-level shooting, rewriting the history of camera development time and again.

In the 1950's, Hasselblad created its first wide-angle camera series. At the time, correcting optical aberration and distortion from wide-angle lenses was a challenge as the aspherical lenses we know today were not yet available. The SWC, however, broke the mold. Instead of using a mirror, the SWC utilized a rangefinder design which allowed the rear element to be placed closer to the focal plane, effectively reducing aberration and distortion. These developments not only produced clear, uncompromised images, they also allowed for a significantly slimmer camera body. Decades later, the SWC camera continues to be critically acclaimed for its outstanding design and renowned image quality.

While inspired by the SWC camera, the 907X goes a few steps further. Unlike the SWC, the 907X is an interchangeable lens camera that supports both live view and autofocus. The detachable CFV II 50C digital back can blend seamlessly with a film camera body, launching film cameras into the digital age. Through innovating on the classic design, the legacy of the SWC camera is reinvigorated with 907X.

Past, Present & Future.

An Ode To Legacy.

The 907X Anniversary Edition Kit includes a CFV II 50C digital back, a 907X camera body, control grip, optical viewfinder, and XCD 3,5/30 lens. All components are special-edition designs with detailing custom to the anniversary kits. The engraved 30mm wide-angle lens was thoughtfully selected to echo the Biogon 38mm wide-angle lens used in the SWC.

The camera and grip are covered by black grain leatherette and highlighted with anodized edges. One side of the camera features a commemorative plate that reads "Since 1941," while "Hasselblad" in handwritten lettering marks both the camera body and the optical viewfinder.

The Anniversary Edition lens features a delicately etched focus ring in a Hasselblad logo print. When ingenuity meets artistry, eight decades of legacy are condensed into a holdable masterpiece. Down to the finest detail, the 907X Anniversary Edition Kit serves as both a nostalgic nod and a tribute to the spirit of innovation.

An Ode To Legacy.

Analog & Digital, The Best of Both Worlds.

The 907X camera body not only supports XCD lenses, but is also designed to blend seamlessly with HC/HCD, V, and XPAN lenses via adapters, enriching the capture possibilities when used with the CFV II 50C digital back. The CFV II 50C can also be paired with film camera bodies, taking a leap by coupling analog and digital shooting.

Analog & Digital, The Best of Both Worlds.

The Perfect Shot.

The CFV II 50C digital back has a touch and tilt rear display that enables effortless waist-level shooting. Attach the back to any V System camera, then tilt the screen to a suitable angle or use a waist-level viewfinder for easy image composition, focusing, and review.

The Perfect Shot.
