Excellent, but...

This grip is both light weight and sturdy, and I used to use it frequently for a good two-handed grip on the camera -- but now its added size to the camera conflicts with my preference for "compact and light" for my frequent short photo-excursions... But, given its low price and light weight, it is a good and useful accessory to have.

Mandatory for not having red-eye to deal with.

I use two cameras.. a D600 and an SB-910 with Vello AZ1414 w/ 3 ft coiled cord, and the Nikon Stereo mic with this bracket, hanging from the 'suspenders like' Opteka lightweight harness (the two straps do hold it all very well—highly recommended, too!), and a D7100 with SB600 on a spiderpro holster. I wish I could put the D7100 on a bracket and have it work in the holster, too, but that is just a bit too much. The bracket gets the flash just far enough off that I virtually never have any red-eye to deal with on the D600. The D7100 with SB-600 and no bracket, sigh, too much red-eye and post-production time. Major wahhh. LOL

Great product

I bought this to mount my gopro with external mic (videomic pro). It works perfectly, the handle is big enough for you to have a good grip and light enough for you to hold it for a long time (at least as long as your gopro batteries last). No complain, it works for what I need it to and good quality for the price.

works as expected

I mounted this on a Nikon D-610 so I could use my current Olympus flash and drive is as a slave. Fits the camera body nicely and is small enough to fit into my bag.

Handles nicely

Great accessory handle for the money and just overall. Easily allows for multiple hotshoe accessories to be attached without much difficulty. I would recommend attaching your camera first, as the bottom tripod mount screw can be tricky as it slides through the movable slot. It holds my Nikon D7000 plus battery grip quite well while also accepting a video light and external microphone on the side mounts. Allows microphone to be far enough away from lens noise(silent wave motors still make noise on video if mic is close enough) to cut down focus noise substantially, though not completely, but that also depends on your mic choice. All in all I'd buy this product again and another for a friend.

good design, well-made, very low-priced

Rigid yet light-weight bracket, very comfortable grip with a slight--just the right amount--of stickiness. The second shoe is great, allowing both a microphone and light to be mounted on one bracket.

Useless

There is no way to secure a flash unit to this bracket rendering it completely useless. I returned it.

This Product is awesome

I use this with my GoPro Hero2. The L-Bracket gives me a stable way to hold my GoPro and with the shoe mounts I am going to be able to attach an external microphone. The L-Bracket is light and the ruber grip makes it nice to hold.

Quality and Affordability

I have some friends that are "Ghost Hunters" that use this at the old Hospital in the area. It allows them the ability to hold the camera with one hand and other equipment with the other hand easily.

Good value

Two shoes are great for video, can hold a shotgun mic and light at the same time. Only down side is space is a little tight for the camera's (Panasonic HDC-TM700) flip out LCD sceen.

Heavy Duty L-Bracket

The L-Bracket is light but strong. The slight angle makes it easier to use with my camera.

great for stashing

This flash shoe mount is great for stashing in a camera bag. It is small enough to take anywhere but solid enough you can trust your $ flash will not fall off. NOTE: You will need to use a clamping mount and it will only work for the left side of the camera inless tabs are lowered.

Would Buy Another!

Well built. It will come very useful with my flash unit or led lamp for my camcorder. I really like the feel of it.

Wish it was a tad longer

Works fine. Strong, lightweight, nice handle grip. My only minor complaint is that I wish it extended longer from the 1/4/20 screw to the "L" portion. My camcorder - a Canon HF-R100 - has a digital screen for a viewfinder. You can't open the screen all the way with the bracket set in a normal, 90-degrees-from-the-camera position. So I had to buy another straight bracket to account for that. And no one else has a longer bracket either, and many camcorders these days have larger screens that won't work with this either. But that's the only real issue - otherwise, I'd realistically give it 4.5 stars.

Useless as flash bracket

In addition to other complaints, when bracket is on the left side of the camera, leaving the right hand for the shutter and other controls, the flash faces backwards.

Wasn't what was pictured/returned

Only wanted bracket for the flash shoes. Wasn't what was picture. I even ordered one for a sample before purchase. Didn't like the new shoes, it was to tight for the flashes also. Picture needs to be changed to reflect change in product.

Needs different mounting

Bracket swings/moves on the camera. It needs another pin or mount point to keep it from moving.

It's a bracket... it's cheap... it works

I bought this mainly for use as my macro rig. Used Adorama's shoe mount ball head for the flash. This bracket serves its purpose well. The grip could be better though (made my own padded cover). If you don't want the camera to turn on the bracket, use an anti-twist plate.... pretty simple.

Ridiculously bad

when attached to camera (20D, 40D), it swings around as though it's not screwed in completely - though it is. This makes it basically useless. Also, one of the screws attaching the top shoe to the bracket is not threaded all the way, making the shoe unusuable (cant fit any flash or other accesory into it). Doesnt anybody try this stuff out before selling it to us?
