I purchased two of these for my light stands for a hummingbird shoot. They were easy to set up and filled my needs to get the shot that I was looking to get. I would highly recommend this item.

It works well and the price is right. The only thing that would improve it would be a ball connection that would let you make minor angle and direction adjustments.

Compact, yet sturdy; I like this type of shoe adapter better than others in which the speedlight slips clumsily and wobble a little; the only downside is that you can't remove the shoe if I needed to. Other than that, highly recommended.

Held my flash, no slipping, easy to set-up, a little heavy, but I didn't mind.

I use Nikon sb 900,910s in many of my photographs so When light is necessary you can use just about anything. However if you have this mount it makes it so much easier. They truly get the jod done.

I haven't used it for very long but it appears to be well made. I will trust my expensive flash equipment with it. Good quality so far no complaints.

If you need an umbrella clamp to mount your flash on a stand this item works. Unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem of the light source being kind of far away from the center of the umbrella... Have not yet found a compact solution that makes that possible in a stable fashion... This is ok, but not an ideal scenario as the umbrella doesn't get lit evenly...

I was looking for smaller, lighter, quicker off-camera options for lighting events and for travel. These adapters allow for shoe-mounted radios/strobes - and can even add an umbrella. They are perfect.

Purchased this to use for off camera lighting. Attached it to a very sturdy stand (actually, a portable backdrop stand, not a traditional light stand as it's much sturdier). The mount fit perfectly and holds the speed light securely and tight. Love it!

Mount is well made and works well with both my sb 600 and sb 900 flashes.

Seems like I've done this before...These are very good quality grips for your brollies and they do not interfere at all with the contacts on my SB-800 speedlites. My only minor gripe is with the thumb screw for the umbrella mount, and that is easily rectified by finding 1/4-20 thumbscrews at [@] or [@] or, well, in my garage full of such stuff. Buy them, they work really well.

I'll be ordering a few more. I read the reviews of other users and took a chance, and a well placed bet it was. I have used these in combination with four SB-800's and they lock tight and there is no interference with the hot shoe. Someone here mentioned the "stepped" or locking mechanism, but I love it, a few turns of the locking screw and they are ready for re-positioning or locking down. I would guess that the only critisism I might have (actually, a product improvement) would be a better butterfly locking screw for the brollie, instead of the knurled hand screw. I'm messing with a swap or replacement, but you can't beat this product on top of some location stands, brollies and speedlights.

I use this product for taking portraits outdoors with my Flash shooting through an umbrella. I previously bought the one from Cowboy Studios and it was a piece of junk, made of plastic and the thumb-screw that held the umbrella in place stripped the first time I used it. This mount is indestructible. I will be buying another to replace the Cowboy cheap plastic one.

Works better than other versions. The swivel joint has protrusions which enable a positive lock about every 10 degrees, rather than relying on friction which may slip (as in other versions). This is well made from aluminum. It is lighter weight and stronger than other plastic versions. The flash shoe is removable. I've added a 1/4"-20 hole underneath to adapt for other purposes such as floodlights or studio flash heads.

i have been using this on my tripod, but i do have a light stand that i may start carrying to use it on. it works as advertised. if you are going to use it on a tripod just keep in mind that the bottom wing nut is probably going to be difficult to adjust because it will be very close to your head plate. This is a minor thing that can be overcome. Also, be careful of the hot shoe mount. make sure your flash isn't going to fall out. i wish there was a way for the flash head to actually lock in other than just screwing the adjustment knob in tightly. it was a good deal though and when i get a second flash, i'm sure I'll be buying another.

I am using this with my Nikon SB-700 Speedlights. The flash unit fits perfectly to the cold shoe. I found this adapter to be solid and well made. In conjunction with Adorama's inexpensive but excellent quality umbrellas, I have a first rate system! I don't think anyone would be disappointed with this quality item.

This was a bit cheaper than the equivalent from Manfrotto, and I had heard good things about it. Things worked well and it locked down well with a heavy SB900 on it. I only used a 43inch umbrella, yet to test with 60, but I had some initial slipping with the shaft of the umbrella, however I think this was because I'm always careful not to crimp it. One bummer- I needed to use pliers to disconnect the stud on the top of my light stand from the threads of this because the female part it screws into is not locked into the unit and will rotate freely. I'd recommend it, but be aware of that.

it's a good flash mount for a light stand. I will have to buy a couple more.

This is a great little unit for mounting flashes and umbrellas. The only thing i don't like about it is that the rotating parts have teeth that lock together and make it unnecessarily difficult to adjust. I went to the hardware store and bought a nylon washer to put inside it and now it works great.
