Celena M : I want to use some sort of non leaking moisture absorbent for the container my photos are stored in. Is this item non leaking?JOSEPH B : I keep it in one of my camera bags and it works fine. I have not noticed any type of moisture coming from this item. Good luck.THEODORE K : I have used them in a very humid environment for a number of years and have never had a leak.ROBERT H : I had several of these in a large pelican case, and one came open, spilling desiccant all over the case. It went everywhere. The desiccant is in the form of small round pebbles if you will. I'd make sure that when you put these in a case you take care to place it so that there's no shifting or movement that will stress the metallic case, since it can pop open.STEPHEN S : No, but be sure to dry it in the oven when the beads indicate that you should.Thomas F : Yes none leaking, It consists of small balls.KAREN S : It's a non-leaking absorbent. Pelican part# is 1500D.KEITH K : I was looking to find genuine Pelican desiccants for my cases. From what I found, none actually say 'Pelican' on them, but there are various things you can look for to ensure that they are genuine. These met all of the criteria and Adorama is a respectable company. They were a little more expense than the generic ones I found elsewhere, but are really good. I ordered several to start with, then placed another order for more since they were so good.

OK for what it is

It's a tin can with silica gel in it. It's nothing special, but I think it's going to do the job. I think the metal case leaves a bit to be desired. It's thin and cheap, but it does have to bare being put in the oven to recharge. When my wife dropped her phone in the water I actually put this in a ziplock bag w/ her phone, and her phone works fine now. I can't say that this saved the phone, but it didn't hurt.
