Questions & Answers

Shopper : I live in Southern California and often times want to take shots from my car of freeway and surrounding areas while driving. Will this be stable enough to take shots while driving on the freeway at 65mph?HOWARD S : This is great for stabilizing a larger lens or something thithout stabilization. I would not trust this or any device for your plan. The reason is that wind will create lift and wind shear (like your hand out the window). Also, the car will transmit vibration into the window. Possible yes, likely to do what you want, noJAMES B : Mount is very stable at 5hat speed the question becomes the camera and lens size and length that would be catching the wind. This mount in my opinion would not hold at that speed and wind drag.ALAN L : I only used this attachment for taking still photos while the car was parked. I found trying to take photos from the car to be awkward. This window mount made it is to to pan across the scenery adjacent to the car and take pictures. We were in Southern Utah. Regards, Alan L.RAY P : I'm sure you know the answer to this: absolutely not--unless you're shooting the mountain range 30 miles away and you don't care what the foreground looks like. This thing is for sitting in your car with the engine off (unless you drive a Prius or other electric car) and shooting from a perfectly still situation. Think of it as replacing a tripod. Shoot from an overpass or hand-held through a moon roof.HANSEN, S : No idea. I use this while driving around nature parks at under 10 miles an hour. And I stop before using it. I hope you are not implying that you want to use this while driving at 65mph.MICHAEL P : This mount attaches to the window securely and holds your camera securely but unless your camera has image stabilazation it may not be as clear as you would like it to be. I use mine when the vehicle is stopped. Good luck!DAVID M : The problem might be vibration from the highway and engine. But, if you shoot at high speed you can get good resolution anyway., Doing photos while driving is hazardous. I have held my camera out of the window and tried to compose while driving across the desert. Bummer/scary at best. DavidJOHN K : It’s very sturdy only issue would be wind
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?LINDA R : I have a nikon p1000 and this devise supports the cameras weight. I believe it will come in handy on cold days for photo taking and video recordings from in my car.JAMES S : Comment by purchaser that they used it for the same tamron lens I have.DR JOHN S : RecommendedGARY M : my son wanted itLYNDA B : Gift for my husband.DEBORAH V : To help stabilize my camera when taking picturesSTEVEN B : wanted for spotting scope for ease of useERWIN F : Second one I have.Great window mount.Scott P : I have a 4x4 van that sets up high. I get a great perspective from the window for shooting landscapes. If you use this... don't forget to turn your vehicle off. The vibration from a running motor will ruin your image.Johan J : Shooting wildlife in parks in southern Africa needs to be done from a vehicle and I intend to use it mainly for shooting video from the vehicle.Raymond T : I like itRick S : PriceTARLDON N : To photograph roadside flowers while sitting in my car.DAVID R : to hold the Camera Steady. A very nice car window camera mount.

A good value for the money and works great. I like the 1/4 x 20 thread directly over the window. More stable.

Stabilize camera dand lens and not get attacked by lions bears or moose

This is perfect to have the eqivalent of a blind or just be safe in your car when shooting wildlife. A great substitute for a tripod when you don’t have the time to set up or because of weather or danger you should remain in the car. Great for the intended purpose.

Great quality and strong.

The quality is very good. Strong materials, professional finish. I am very happy with the quality that I would expect from a genuine Nikon product.

Good value

I use this with an 80-200 2.8 on Nikon d7000. Held great and works as expected. The only niggle was the direction of the release as pointed out earlier. It dismountss towards the outside of the car. I just bring the whole thing in and do not use the quick release. I will adapt to a Arca plate in the near future. Definitely recommended if you are in the market for a window mount.

Shooting from a car?

This is a more stable platform than just hanging out a bean bag. Allows taking hands off camera to drive a bit when tracking shore birds or other wildlife. I've used it with my Tamron 150-600 zoom and my Canon 70-200 with 2x and it held both just fine. It's a little hard to adjust on window once in place and takes a little getting used to, but after a bit of practice it works just fine.

Heavy duty clamp

Pros Heavy duty, Two adjustment screws, one for horizontal and one for vertical rotation. Removable base plate for attachment. Cons This clamp is much larger than I expected. It will not fit in my camera bag! Made in China.

great product

i use this for holding my 70-200 canon with the ring mount. the images of coyotes and birds are very sharp compared to holding by hand. this is not something you will use everyday---but will be glad you have it when the time comes.

Great product!

I use the product for doing rolling shots of cars on the highway. The product has a disclaimer saying NOT to do exactly that, but it works perfectly fine with my Rebel XTi and 18-55 lens. It is a bit limited on reach, so you'll need to stay on the wider end of the lens. A true wide-angle would probably work even better. It makes taking the shots a lot easier though, as it keeps the camera perfectly still, allowing me to use longer shutter speeds with the car I'm shooting to remain sharp. I want to buy some ND filters and see just how long I can go for. Great product!! No real complaints.

High Quality 2-Axis Head

Large knobs are easy to use. It's almost like having a professional tripod in the car. Adhesive used for affixing the emblum is weak. The functional pads are affixed well though. The quick release looks like it should fit in two positions 180 degrees apart. Only one position works with mine. Camera is tilted out of the car for quick release. I would be more comfortable with it tilting in.
