Speed gun Velocity 101911

I have two Speed guns, one of which I loaned to our local high school baseball team. They both work great and have never failed. However, both have a very unpleasant feature in that the entire case, not just the grip, become very sticky over time. One of them I tried to clean to no avail. The other I haven't tried to clean. Would love to know if this is typical, or whether something can be done to correct.

Purchased on a week ago, got dropped and now does not work. garbage at this point since it does not function. Ordered another, will get a padded case for storage. This is very sensitive equipment!

I bought bushnell speed gun ( a months back ) for cricket use in India. So that I can measure the speed of ball and the bowlers. But it is not giving the accurate speed as I measured from other device. 
Measuring from: 
 Bushnell speed gun : 60kph ( not useful for cricket) 
Measuring from pocket radar : 130kph 
 And now They are refusing to take it back. I am feeling cheated and In loss. Don't know what to do with this gun. Any solutions
