It is really great to have a color calibrated screen and printer. I am puzzled though because even without gamma issues and while photo on the screen and a print preview matching colors in photoshop look nearly identical, when I print with all of the correct settings and paper, it still had a definite color tone not evident before printing. So while close, the match is not perfect, but it sure beats no calibration.

I can't offer any negatives to the ColorMunki Photo. It's a great tool if you want to make sure your prints look the same as your monitor.

If you enjoy viewing and/or printing digital photographs, or creating digital art, you have to calibrate your monitor and printer. Anything else is leaving it up to the fates (which are notoriously fickle)! Whether Jpeg straight to printer, or RAW workflow using the latest tools, it's crucial to have what your eyes see on the monitor and what the printer renders to paper match. By default, they won't. x-Rite ColorMunki makes it SO easy for anyone to nail pro color every time. Setup on Mac, Windows ...even Linux is a snap. It might take a rank beginner 15 minutes to install and complete his/her first monitor calibration. Add in another ten minutes to calibrate the printer and presto! Don't believe the difference is huge? Toggle off the profiles and look at before and after images. You'll wonder how you ever lived without it!

I have used this unit for at least 2 years and it has served very well. My only "gripe" is that the wheel that shifts from one mode to another is awkward and difficult to move and the USB connector infrequently falls out. Some ridges to aid gripping would be helpful. Otherwise, it has provided remarkably accurate prints when the monitor is calibrated with the ColorMunki.

The more you use it, the more accurate your printer will mimic your screen. I still occasionally calibrate my screens, but no longer have to run test prints on the printer. What I see is what I get.

I'm a total newbie when it comes to color-matching my prints to my monitors, but the colormunki worked amazing! Really pleased with the results. The software is very user-friendly and walks you through each step. I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend this to anyone looking to begin at-home printing with accurate results.

I have an Epson SureColor P800, but have not being able to print with the color that I see on my monitor. With Colormunkie, no more guessing and save photo paper and ink.

Colormunki is an easy to use tool for color matching monitor to printer. Fast and accurate. Improved my color printing well in excess of my expectations.

Worked good enough. Was a major pain to scan test sheets though.

Two years ago I started printing my photos rather than sending them to a photo lab and wanted a device to calibrate my monitor and printer in order to get consistent results. The ColorMunki Photo was recommended by a very experienced photography friend and it has made a big improvement in the quality of the finished prints. The ColorMunki is very easy to use and can profile a monitor, printer and a projector. After loading the software it is just a matter of answering several questions and you are guided thru the process with very clear instructions. You create and store a profile for each printer and type of photo paper in use and select them in the printer setup and any processing software, such as Photoshop.

I wanted my monitor and printer "talking to each other" so that printed photographs would look like the image on my monitor. I had been rather intimidated by the technical articles I read prior to my purchase. So, I was pleased that the instructions and software were user-friendly with clear step-by-step guidance. Now photos look like the images on my monitor which completely justifies the cost of buying it and makes printing fun again.

It's been a great help to transport the ColorMunki from computer to computer - calibrating the displays to the same standard. When I didn't have a color compensation file for some paper I planned to use, I went through the print-and-scan sequence to make the needed standard files - producing close to the intended result (printer consistency is a part of the result). I'd say I've used this little took to calibrate everything in sight, greatly simplifying my process.

I'm just a hobbyist, but I noticed my prints were darker than the image on my computer. The Colormunki was easy to use and demonstrated via before and after images how much adjustment was made. I think this was one of the most important steps I've taken as I grow in my hobby.

This thing is pretty good and I'm sure it's hard to make a generic hanger for this unit that fits all monitors but I had some trouble getting it to hang correctly where it was supposed to. But not a deal breaker...I sat there and held it in place while it did it's thing. The other problem was that the micro USB plug didn't want to stay connected to the unit so well but finally found a sort-of solution.

I did the screen profile and it changed the display significantly. It's much better in showing detail throughout the range of light to dark...but it's taking some time to get used to (I used to have the screen significantly darker and the colors look a little washed out now). On the printer side, I was extremely worried about being able to shut off all of the other color management on my pixma Pro9000. But I found a pretty good video that showed the proper set up (go to the Printer properties, main, turn color/intensity to manual, click set and select "none" on the matching tab). Once you've turned off color management in the printer, everything works well and my first prints looked very close to what I expected/wanted. Unfortunatly my printer died around that time....and my new one should give me another chance at calibration when it arrives today. The biggest reason why I got this was to be able to use aftermarket ink w/o losing color fidelity by profiling the ink/paper combo.

As a photographer with a hobby business I wanted easy calibration of my monitor and printer. The setup videos and instructions made the calibrations easy with specific papers. It did take a few tries to get the buttons on the calorimeter figured out.

Getting a picture with something resembling proper color has eluded me for years. Because of that I rarely attempted printing many pictures. I finally bought a good color photo printer but the same problems persisted. So I ponied up and bought the Colormunkie. It took me a while to get it right but with very good help from Xrite and my printer's manufacturer, I got it. And I am very happy with the results. It was well worth the investment.

I use this to match dual monitors, calibrate the screens and help with camera calibration/profiles. It's a bit pricey, but a great product. I've had issues getting two monitors to match (maybe monitrs too old?). Otherwise, it's a breeze to use.

I use ColorMunki Photo to calibrate my monitors and printers. It generates an ICC (.icm for Colormunki) profile based upon its spectrometer readings on your monitor and on print charts it generates. You can make one for each kind of photo paper/printer you use. These profiles then are accessible in Photoshop and Lightroom. The results are color-accurate prints that very closely match what you see on your monitor. WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get.)

I got the colormunki primarily to get my monitors to agree. I've calibrated 4 LCD monitors on my two desktop machines and one laptop. I'm running Windows 7 on all machines. On our oldest laptop, I couldn't get the calibration to stick, it is most likely due to old drivers on the laptop. Since it is our oldest and I don't edit photos on that machine, I quit trying to debug it. Here's what I've gained. Piece of mind and faster work flow. I used to worry about colors, so I would check them on several machines and monitors at home and work. One day after shooting fog and seeing color shifts, I decided enough was enough and got the colormunki. I've only been profiling monitors, but it will profile projectors, ambient light conditions, pick up colors from samples and match printers. I'm not doing this kind of stuff…now, but perhaps someday I will. Be sure your drivers are up to date, and life should be a breeze. Cons? On one of my monitors, the profile is about 1/3 stop brighter, but since my results are much better and I don't know route cause, I cannot fault the colormunki. You can check out the results on my blog, just google "shooting my universe".

I bought the Color Munki photo to replace an earlier X-Rite product. The software is easy to navigate, especially for the Monitor Calibration. (Though there is one glitch in the software that reminds you to reprofile your monitor every week, even when you tell it you don't want to be reminded that frequently) However, I found that the calibration of my printer was not that effective, and that I got BETTER prints just using the printer profiles that came with my printer over the ones I created with the Color Munki. And since I don't have a projector I don't use that aspect of the Color Munki. So in the long run, I could have purchased just the iOne Display colorimeter and saved myself a couple hundred dollars!

Factory tech was useless in trying to get this to work on my vista system..I ultimately went to [@] and had 3 color profiles that WORK fabulously for a total of $75!

This product is amazing. Years ago a friend told me about Colormunki and I dismissed it as an expensive toy and bought the Eye One less expensive version which was okay, but time consuming and not very accurate. After struggling to keep 6 monitors, a projector and Epson 3880 print all doing their thing I finally gave in an bought the Colormunki. Boy did I waste years without it. It is amazing fast, automatic and extremely accurate. I can't imagine an easier or faster product to keep all your screens, printers and projectors color balanced. While the product is not inexpensive it is worth every penny.

If you ever share or print your photos you must calibrate your screen or you may be very disapointed with what others see. This is a simple to use calibration tool that does not require suction cups on your monitor.

I've used ColorMunki for several years and I'm very glad that I invested in it. Now my prints come out very close to what I see on my monitor. The only exception to color accuracy is due to the different color gamuts on my monitor compared to my printer, but this is generally a minor consideration. I use the .icm paper/printer profiles it generates in both Photoshop and Lightroom. I'm amazed at the good results I get in Lightroom using ColorMunki profiles but even with Lightroom's lack of soft-proofing and gamut warning (available in PS) the prints still are accurately color and brightness matched to the monitor. ColorMunki is a great product and fairly simple to use. Xrite provides excellent tutorials on their site and the company is easy to contact for even more detailed help if needed.

Surprisingly easy and useful

This is an excellent and easy to use device that should be used by anyone who wants to make consistently high quality large prints. Over a few months time, the savings in ink and paper will pay for this device. Initially, I hesitated making this purchase. I used to own a commercial color printing lab and did a lot of Type C prints. I am pretty serious about high print quality. I had read some reviews that seriously trashed this product as difficult to use and unreliable. As a result, I...

Simple to work with
By DAVOR G.
I started by simple monitor calibration and wooow - it is amazing! The calibration process takes few minutes and runs mostly automatic. I was not sure how the Colormunki would hold close to the LCD screen, but it was not a problem what so ever. Instructions are clear and the process straight forward. If you do anything wrong the screen tells you exactly what to do. One small negative comment is that if you want to hurry up the process can get into a hanging state and I had to reboot the compu...
