Last Turntable I'll Ever Need
This is one fine turntable and I thought my 50 year old Technics sounded great. The soundstage has expanded and not only is there great detail but this turntable is adding new instruments to the songs I've listened to forever. I mean, I wondered if a Rod Stewart song was a different version that what I was used to hearing. Not sure if I like a power switch as I'm worried it may wear out. My old turntable powered on when the arm moved over the platter then off when returned to the stand.

The AT-LP8X features a newly designed tonearm lift that automatically raises the tonearm at the end of a record side, stopping the motor to preserve your vinyl collection.
The turntable boasts a J-shaped aluminum tonearm, a nod to the classic Audio-Technica models from the 1960s and '70s. This tonearm is equipped with the newly designed AT-LT10 headshell and the AT-VM95E BK (black) cartridge, featuring a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus. This combination ensures excellent channel separation and low distortion, delivering outstanding tonal quality. For those who love to customize their audio setup, the stylus is replaceable and interchangeable with any of the five additional styli in the VM95 line. Additionally, the tonearm's VTA (vertical tracking angle) adjustment and Subcounterweight allow for the use of a wide range of other cartridges.
The AT-LP8X is versatile, playing 33-1/3, 45, and 78 RPM records. Its 25 mm rubber-damped, anti-resonance, die-cast aluminum platter is paired with a 2.5 mm rubber mat, driven by a sensor-monitored motor that guarantees consistently accurate platter rotation speed. The motor, along with its efficient internal switching power supply, is housed within a robust box plinth made of 16 mm MDF (medium density fiberboard). This construction, combined with height-adjustable feet, offers superior protection against unwanted noise and vibration, ensuring a pristine listening experience.
Included with the turntable are a detachable RCA output cable (dual RCA male to dual RCA male with ground), a 45 RPM adapter, and a removable hinged dust cover, providing everything you need for a seamless setup. Please note that a dedicated SP cartridge or the replacement AT-VMN95SP stylus is required to play 78 RPM records.
