Very solid mic, excellent mod platform to take it to next level
This mic sounds really good and is built well. I bought this as a platform for a replacement capsule (arienne audio flat k47), and it works nicely for that. The capsule was really easy to drop in. I also did one in the tac1100 and that was more difficult to do, but they both sound great with that capsule. I bought 2 of each model and so I have one stock and one modded of each. TAC700 Condenser Mic- Great Value and Recommended
Just finished an extensive shootout with the TAC700 and TAC1100 mics, and I am impressed!! They were up against a C414B-ULS, TLM107, TLM102, U47fet Clone, SM57, MXL144 and MXL4000 (all in cardioid). I was hopeful that the TAC700 would hold it's own, and, sure enough, it did. I found that it performed right in the middle of the pack- quiet, smooth and un-hyped.
