Does block out light pollution but also some of the light from the stars. I live in heavily light polluted skies

I use on the Sony 20mm f/1.8 for capture of the Milky Way. This filter is for getting rid or control of artificial light during the night. For me, I capture along the coastal areas of Florida and Georgia that use amber lights along the ocean areas for turtles. Using this filter gets rid of the orange lights glow but lets through the normal tan beach, green leaves of trees, blue ocean and those great colors of the Milky Way with a light blue sky.

I live in the Houston Metroplex area and have a major problem with light pollution. I bought this lens for my Nikon Z50 50-250mm zoom lens to help with the problem and I am not disappointed. It does a good job of cutting down the pollution though it does not do away with it completely as I would expect in Bortle 8 skies. For the price I got what I expected and would definitely buy it again.

Why let urban glow hinder your astrophotography pursuits when the Ikan NiSi 62mm Natural Night Filter is engineered to combat the challenges of light pollution Designed specifically for night sky enthusiasts and photographers based in light-polluted areas, this premium filter is a game-changer for capturing the celestial wonders above.
Crafted with precision, the NiSi Natural Night Filter selectively blocks wavelengths of light emitted by common artificial sources, such as sodium-vapor and mercury-vapor lamps, as well as LEDs with a low Color Rendering Index. By attenuating the intrusive yellow and orange hues that these light sources cast, the filter aids in revealing the true colors and clarity of the night sky, enhancing the contrast between the stars and the darkness of space.
The effectiveness of this filter is not just theoretical; it's been proven in practice by photographers like those in the Houston Metroplex area, who have seen a significant reduction in the effects of light pollution in their astrophotography. While it may not completely eliminate the glow of Bortle 8 skies, it substantially diminishes it, allowing for more natural and striking night-time images and videos.
Durability is also a hallmark of the NiSi 62mm Natural Night Filter. Constructed from high-quality optical glass, it resists scratches and impacts, ensuring that your investment is protected against the rigors of outdoor photography. The filter's glass is also coated with NiSi's proprietary nano-coating, which helps to prevent reflections and ensure a high level of light transmission, resulting in clearer and sharper images.
Versatility and ease of use are further benefits of this filter. Its 62mm size is compatible with a wide array of lenses, making it a versatile addition to any photographer's kit. The filter's slim profile ensures that vignetting is minimized, even when used with wide-angle lenses. Additionally, the filter's threading is designed for quick and secure attachment, allowing you to set up and capture the beauty of the night sky without fumbling in the dark.
In summary, the Ikan NiSi 62mm Natural Night Filter is a high-quality, effective, and durable solution for photographers seeking to mitigate the adverse effects of light pollution. Its ability to improve night sky photography makes it an essential tool for both professionals and enthusiasts who demand the best from their equipment.
