The EVC-DC2 is an awesome addition to the Canon M6. It's probably not necessary, but it certainly makes using the camera more fun. Downsides are that it does add some bulk to the camera body and that the screen inside of it is more saturated in color than the camera's rear screen. Despite that, though, I'd still wholeheartedly recommend picking one up!

I don?t know how I lived without this before! I use my M6 for both video and stills. Video without this is fine. stills without this is like a burger without ketchup.

This is a an excellent piece of equipment. It is clear and sharp, and, of course, using a viewfinder which is pressed to the face provides a much more stable environment than holding the camera a few feet away from your face. Thus you can get sharper images and use slower shutter speeds to achieve that.

I am very pleased with the EVF-DC2. I am using it on my canon g3x, when I move it to my eye it switches on fairly quickly. There is an adjustment to focus in so that I don't need my glasses which works wonderfully for me. My concern with this function is that I already have it at the maximum, if my eyes get worse I will need the glasses again. The good news is it does work with glasses. You can also set it to stay on if you won't be using the screen display. It is easy to read the menus through the viewfinder. I also like that it locks on, you need to push a button to release the lock to remove it from the camera. The eye piece is very comfortable and easy to use. Overall I am very happy with it, the reason for the 4 stars is it sticks out quite a bit from the camera making it awkward to store the camera with it attached in my prefered smaller camera cases. While it does come with a nice little protective pouch, i prefer to leave it on the camera. I do not think that they could have made it any smaller, the real solution would be for canon to have built it into the camera. I highly recommend this viewfinder.

I’ve been using this viewfinder for about a month now. Works great! This is a must have accessory for the M6. It really takes the pain out of trying to compose photos on a sunny day.

Requires a download for compatibility with the camera even though it is sold as a canon app.
